Some dogs come through the door ready to PARTY.
Some act like they own the place.
And some give us that look like, “I’ll be over here until the treats arrive.” 😂
That’s one of our favorite things about caring for dogs — every single one has their own personality, routine, and way of making us laugh.

🎤🐾 FRIDAY NIGHT KARAOKE AT

Which means our overnight guests are once again finding out that boarding at Grandma’s comes with entertainment they never asked for. 😂

Some dogs sing along.

Some sleep right through it.

And some stare at us like:

“I’d like to change my reservation.” 😑🐶

But Friday Night Karaoke is a Grandma’s tradition, and apparently management has no intention of stopping it.

So tonight’s question:

The office gets quiet.
The phones stop ringing.
Daycare is over.
Grooming is done.
And our overnight guests start settling in for the night. ❤️
Some curl up and go right to sleep.
Some need one more drink.
Some need one more potty break.
And some are pretty sure bedtime is just a suggestion. 😂
By this time of night, the kennel has a completely different feel to it.
Quieter.
Calmer.
Just dogs getting comfortable and settling in until morning.
And for the families who trusted us with them tonight…

There’s a little something inside Grandma’s that a surprising number of people don’t know about…
We have treats and toys right here in the office. 🐶🦴🧸
So the next time you’re dropping off for boarding, coming in for grooming, bringing your dog to daycare, or picking somebody up…
Take a look around.
Because apparently dogs can go on vacation, get groomed, spend the day playing with their friends…
…and still somehow convince us they deserve a treat on the way home. 😂
We’ve also got toys for the dogs who believe they don’t already have enough at home.
Which, according to them, is all of them.

Here’s something we wish every dog owner knew:
Not every dog belongs in doggy daycare.
And that’s okay.
Some dogs are social butterflies. Others have a favorite friend or two and would like the rest of society to leave them alone. 😂
Good daycare isn’t about throwing every dog together.
It’s about watching personalities, body language and comfort levels and deciding what’s best for that dog.
A dog that enjoys playing with other dogs may absolutely love daycare.
Another dog may be telling you, in their own way, “Thanks, but I’d rather not.”
Listening to that matters.
At Grandma’s, we want happy dogs—not forced friendships. ❤️🐾

Your dog also has a job:
Bark at the delivery truck.
Rearrange the couch.
Inspect the garbage.
Sleep four hours.
Wake up completely refreshed at 8 p.m. 😂
Some dogs need a little more to do.
For dogs who enjoy other dogs, daycare can mean exercise, stimulation, social time—and one pleasantly tired dog when everybody gets home.
Because sometimes the best Monday night is the one where everybody is tired. 😂🐾

The hardest part about leaving your dog usually isn’t packing their food.
It’s walking away. ❤️🐾
We understand that.
These animals are family, and when somebody leaves one with us, they’re trusting us with something they love.
That should never become “just another reservation.”
Every dog has their own personality.
Some walk through the door like they own the place. 😂
Some need a little extra reassurance.
And some spend about 30 seconds missing Mom and Dad before remembering:
“WAIT… I’M AT GRANDMA’S!” 🐶
Our job is to get to know the dog you handed us—not simply the name written on their reservation.
So go enjoy your trip.
We’ll take care of this end. ❤️

There are two kinds of dogs after a trip to the groomer. ✂️🐶
The first one walks out like:
“Yes. I KNOW I look good.” 😎✨
The second one walks out like:
“I will never forgive any of you for what happened here.” 😂
Either way, there’s nothing quite like picking up a clean, freshly groomed dog.
And grooming isn’t just about looking good. Regular coat and nail care can help keep your dog comfortable—and it gives us another opportunity to notice little things hiding underneath all that fur.
So if somebody at your house is getting a little shaggy…
Or beginning to smell like they've been making questionable outdoor decisions…

Yes. Friday Night Karaoke is actually a thing here.
Do the dogs appreciate it?
Depends who you ask.
Some join in.
Some go to sleep.
And some give us a look that very clearly says:
