A New Way to Experience Warwick’s Clinics
Over the years, Warwick’s clinics have evolved.
When he first started there would be 12 people in the arena at once for each day of the 2 day clinics. Then he went to 6 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon. More recently he has had 4 groups of 3 people for 2 hours each.
They have never been lesson type of clinics nor have they been "everyone do this exercise" type of clinics. They've always been tailored to what each horse and rider need when they show up in the arena. Groundwork only - fine! Advanced riding - if you are up to it!
That's why it's hard to answer the question we get often: "What will you cover in the clinic?" The answer actually can only be "Whatever the horses need."
Last year we tried something new when we added a participant only day on Friday prior to the weekend days. This focused on the human side of the partnership and allowed participants to show up more grounded, connected, and confident before stepping into the arena in front of spectators.
This year, we’re taking the best of both—and going a step further.
Our updated clinic format blends Warwick’s Signature Coaching approach culminating with the structure of a 2 day live clinic. This will create a more thoughtful, supportive, and effective experience for both horses and humans.
(We have also amended the number of clinic participants to 9, so that everyone who participates will get more personalized support from Warwick both before, during and after the clinic.)
Working through the video library at home, participants then submit videos of the work they are doing. Warwick reviews these videos in advance and offers personalized feedback, so the learning begins well before anyone ever unloads their horse at the clinic.
We’ll also host group Zoom calls ahead of the clinic, giving participants a chance to connect, ask questions, and build rapport. By the time everyone meets in person, the group already feels familiar—less like strangers, more like a team. (The video review and zoom calls are what the Signature Coaching Series is all about).
The in-person clinic then becomes a place to apply, refine, and deepen the work, rather than starting from scratch under pressure. Horses arrive more prepared. People arrive more confident. And the learning unfolds with more clarity, context, and continuity.
The clinic isn’t a performance.
It’s a learning environment.
Not about being “clinic-ready.”
About being ready to learn—together.
The spectators make the clinics really special as well. Instead of sitting in judgment of the people in the arena, they actually end up being more of a cheering section or support group. Valuing the courage and seeing themselves in the participants in the arena and reflecting how they can put what they are learning into practice with their own horse.
