💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

The color purple represents the fight to end domestic violence, and October 1st is Wear Purple Day. This year, Hamilton Vet Clinic is proud to help raise awareness. 💜

You may wonder, why is a veterinary clinic getting involved? There is an important connection between domestic violence and animal abuse. Abusers may threaten or harm a beloved pet as a way to control, punish, or intimidate their victim. In some cases, concern for a pet’s safety can even make it more difficult for someone to leave an abusive situation.

As veterinary professionals, we care deeply about the well-being of both pets and the people who love them. By raising awareness, we hope to help start conversations, support survivors, honor those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence, and help break the silence. 💜🐾

So, what is Hamilton Vet Clinic doing?
Next Thursday, October 1st, our entire staff will be wearing PURPLE! We’ll also have a table set up in our lobby with fun merchandise available with a donation.

Stop in, check it out, grab some goodies, and join us in wearing purple to help spread awareness! 💜

Together, we can stand with survivors and help make a difference. 🐾💜
