We had to say our good bye to yet another teammate this past weekend. Rock at the age of 15 human years, in dog years 105, cross the Rainbow Bridge on Friday his body finally told him that it couldn't do it anymore. Mentally he wanted to keep going. Thanks to Dr Wendy Swift we got an extra 8 months with him. For that we are very grateful for!

Rock came to us about 7ish years ago. He came from the same place we got pearl. Thanks to Mandy Collins for letting us have the good retirement years of Rock's life. Here at Crystal Blue Rock was one of our leaders, we will call him Rock Solid because he was just one good solid boy that we could trust on and lean on and do anything he asked him to. He also like Pearl was a fan favorite always happy to give a kiss. He would also let you know if you needed to come closer so he could give you kisses!😊 Hearing stories of his previous dog sledding kennels that he was with he sounds like the same exact boy. From living and running in Alaska and coming back to Michigan he was a Solid Rock for everyone. He will be deeply missed here at Crystal Blue and to everyone that loved him along the way! We love you Rock🩵

We have some sad news this morning. We Lost one of our team mates yesterday morning. Our lovely old lady Pearl passed away yesterday. After losing her battle with cancer. She made it to 15 years old in human years and 105 in dog years! We very sad over here for the loss of our main leader that has carried us through the last 8 years with us. Before coming to Crystal BlueSD. Pearl spent her time with Mandy Collins. Thank you Mandy for letting us have her!🩵🫂🩵

I will tell you, this is the first time Terry and I have seen our dogs show their loss for one of their team mates passing. With that said I'm going to share a story about her that means the world to me! When Pearl first arrived she got my/our dogs back on the howling track after dinner every night!
Before Terry and I blended our Dog teams together, my dogs every night after dinner would sing a beautiful howl as a thank you, or well, thats how I took it. As a thank-you/we love you! Terry said that his dogs would do too but, it was from time to time and not a consistent every night like mine. When my dogs moved over here to our home together they also too stopped howling every night.😢 Than not to long after that Pearl came into our lifes! She was our first dog that we got together. She got our 2 teams to become one with the after dinner howl! I'm Beyond grateful for her!🩵 About 3 years ago she past the torch of the nightly howl to Juneau. It is now his job to start the howling tradition every night!

Pearl got to spend the last 8 years of her life being a fan favorite, at all our dog sled Demos/Rides! She always gave all the love she could give, and giving the MOST SWEET kisses out of all of our dogs. She loved everyone and was always so happy. Even though she would yell at the other dogs if they ever tried to outdo her. Pearly whirly bird, you were one of our best!

Hello,🙋🏼‍♀️ we got some good news for the kiddos/parents that were interested in our dog sledding day summer camp! We finally got the dates. We will be doing two different times this summer. Our first one will be July 20th through the 22nd, the other one will be August 17th through the 19th. Camp hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. camp price will be $150 per kid for the 3 days. Age of kiddos that can sign up are 8 and up. A $50 deposit to save your kiddos spot. The remaining $100 will be due first day of camp. Just like our dog sled rides there will be a waiver for parents to sign for their kiddos. We will not be providing lunch so please provide this for your kiddos. If their lunches need to be refrigerated or heated up we can make that happen. Water will be provided for kid kiddos to drink.

This 3-day fun adventure includes a t-shirt with our logo on it that we will be tie dying on one of the days.

Another fun thing we will be doing is making leashes. Your kiddos will be able to take these home to use with your own 4 legged friends. Prior to camp I will send you color choices they can choose from, for the leashes.

Also we will be doing photos with our dogs and your kiddos. Once the last camp is over I will be taking the pictures and making a calendar out of it. For extra funsies the calendar will be a coloring book calendar! I will send them to your home address once I have them finished.

We will be doing Hands-On learning of our day-to-day summer care for our sled dogs. That includes feeding, watering, grooming, health checkup. On the nice warm/hot days we will play in our dog pools with the dogs! If there's any cooler mornings we may be able to do scooter runs with the dogs.

Please send us a private message if you would like to sign your kiddos up or if you have any further questions.

Hello everyone!
I have a question for all the parent's out there! To those of you that had asked us if we do anything for kiddos in the summer with the dogs. Its been asked so many times over the years that I'm finally going put it out there to see if its truly something people want😊 We want your feed back on a day camp or something along the lines of that? That your kiddos would be interested in.

Im thinking of a 4 day Monday through Thursday. Here at Crystal BlueSD. Daytime only camp 9am to 3pm.
My thoughts are teaching the kiddos about our day to day care for the dogs, grooming, feeding and such. Some fun thing Im thinking is tie-dye t-shirt, making a dog leash for there dog at home the same way we make all of our gang lines. Also have some other ideas! Please give us some feed back on what you guys think? Like time, days, what kiddos really want to learn and know more of. Any info for us would be great to hear! Also a number of parent's that would be interested in this for there kiddos this summer! You can leave a comment or private message us.

We have a Birthdays to celebrate! Happy Birthday Moose! Moose is now 14 years old. He's now retired from Dog Sledding. When he was in his prime time in harness he was one of our strongest wheel dogs. He followed in his father's footsteps 100%! Happy Birthday Big Man!🐶🩵🎉
