Mikey’s team is going strong this fall too. They’ve already made it to 8 miles this season, well on track for their end goals. ☺️

Carter has switched gears with his training after dryland dash. He’s now training his full winter team and has had a couple very successful 3 mile runs.

Go Carter and go team! Can’t wait to see how far they all go together this year!

Carters leads, Prim and Squirrel, getting some love and praise after their training run this morning. ☺️💕

Carter, Ash & Squirrel out on the trail at Dryland Dash!

A little nerves, a few new experiences, and then… just a kid and his dogs doing their thing. 🏁🐾

📸 Huge thanks to Krispy Kritter for stepping off the trail to capture these moments!

🏁 LEG 1 | The Finish Line 🐾

Not every race goes perfectly to plan, and that’s where the real learning happens!

As Carter and his team approached the finish line at The UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 Dryland Dash, the crowd had Ash feeling overwhelmed and panicky. Things got a little tangled, but Carter stayed calm, sorted out the harness tangle, and got his team across that finish line. ❤️

For a kid running his FIRST EVER RACE, watching him work through an unexpected situation with his dogs like that was something special. Because mushing isn’t just about speed. It’s about knowing your dogs, adapting when things get hard, and being the person they need you to be.

We couldn’t be prouder of Carter and his team! 🐕💨

Day 1: FINISHED. On to Leg 2! 🏁

🏁 LEG 1 | Carter’s FIRST EVER race! 🐾

Carter and his team took on their first-ever race this weekend at The UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 Dryland Dash! They ran 1 mile each day over 2 days, with their combined times determining their final race time. And just like that, he’s officially a racer!

Carter, Ash and Squirrel all geared up before Saturdays race.

Willow got a minor injury to a paw and couldn’t race, so Squirrel subbed in for her and did fantastic.

Just made it home and got settled back in from our weekend at The UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 Dryland dash.

Carter and his dogs did wonderful and really enjoyed their very first race.

We had an absolute blast! Cannot wait for next year.

We’ll post more pictures and videos in the coming days, now it’s time to rest from an exhausting long weekend.

We got our new to us dog box last week. We managed to scramble quick enough to transform one of our trucks into the dog rig, just in time for dryland dash!
