The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is an award winning, No-Kill 501c nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to taking care of the homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals. UPAWS works very hard to save homeless domestic animals lives and give them every chance at finding new loving homes. However we can't do it without you! Your support will go right to work making a positive difference in the lives of homeless domestic animals in our care. There are things that you can do to make a difference in a homeless pets life. With his adorable round face, roly-poly figure, and irresistible charm, Eevee is a whole lot of kitty to adore! This chunky monkey may be a little bashful at first, but give him a little time and his sweet, affectionate personality shines through!

Not too big, not too small, this 1Ā½-year-old girl is a lovely medium-sized companion with warm amber eyes and a whole lot of fun to share.

Picture an afternoon exploring a trail together, a tennis ball tossed across the yard, and a cozy spot beside you when the day is done. Gravyā€™s favorite things include:

Meet Orange. šŸ§” Big eyes, little paws, and a whole world sheā€™s still finding the courage to explore.

This three-month-old girl is a gentle, bashful kitten who needs a little time to feel comfortable. A soft voice, a cozy place to settle, and someone who lets her come closer at her own paceā€”thatā€™s a lovely beginning for Orange.

Her wish list is simple:

šŸ” A calm home where she can settle in without too much hustle and bustle.
šŸ’› A patient person who will celebrate the little moments as her confidence grows.
šŸˆ Possibly a friendly, outgoing kitty companion to show her the ropes and help her feel brave.

Look at that head tilt! Max is a 1Ā½-year-old Border Collie mix who wants to be part of everything his people are doing. He loves being petted, loves being close, and likes to know what's going on at all times. He's also done well with other dogs.

Max is smart and tuned in, and he's happiest on an adventure, like a crisp fall walk, a crunchy-leaf romp, or a car ride. Then he's just as happy to come home and settle in with the family. He'd love an active household that enjoys walks, hikes, and training games.

He can be a little reserved with new people at first, so he'll thrive with patient, gentle folks. He's still working on coming when called, so he'll do best with a fenced yard or leash adventures and an owner who enjoys training.

Ready to meet your new sidekick? Come see Max at UPAWS before the end of October! Bring your dog and household to have a meet & greet! Walk-ins welcome!

Max's adoption fee is covered by Fox Marquette Subaru through Subaru Share the Love, which helps pets six months and older find loving homes. The program runs through October only.
