After Purina Farms was closed, we made every effort to find an alternative location near St. Louis, MO airport access, but unfortunately, no suitable event centers or equestrian centers were available for the scheduled dates. As a result, the 2025 Futurity entries will be carried over to a 2026 Maturity and held alongside the 2026 Futurity. Thank you for your understanding.
CANCELLATION NOTICE - 2025 USASA NATIONAL SPECIALTY
It is with deep sadness that USASA announces the heartbreaking decision to cancel the 2025 USASA National Specialty, originally scheduled for April 11–18, 2025, at Purina Farms.
On March 14, Purina Farms was directly hit by a tornado that caused extensive damage to multiple areas of the property, including the Visitor Center, Barn, Pet Center, and the Incredible Dog Arena. While the Event Center did not sustain a direct hit, safety and structural inspections are required to ensure the facility’s integrity. Additionally, the grounds and RV areas are currently considered unsafe.
We explored every possible alternative by contacting multiple other facilities, but unfortunately, all potential venues already have prior commitments during our planned dates.
This decision was not made lightly, and we understand how disappointing this news is for our exhibitors, members, and the entire Australian Shepherd community. The Board of Directors and Officers ultimately decided that canceling before the close of entries was the best course of action to allow exhibitors to recoup most of their entry fees.
Important Note: If you have already submitted your entry, please contact the Superintendent to request a refund. Refunds will not be issued automatically, so it is essential that you make this request directly.
Purina Farms has graciously agreed to refund prepaid RV parking fees. Additionally, USASA will be refunding reserved grooming fees and Gala tickets that were purchased. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate through this process.
We will continue considering other dates and venues, but many facilities are already booked. We appreciate your patience as we work through this tedious process. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.
