A huge thank you to La Michoacana for generously sponsoring an Ice Cream Sundae Sunday for our Social Skills Group! 🍨💙

Our group includes both neurodiverse and neurotypical children and teens who come together to build social connections, practice communication skills, increase confidence, and learn through shared experiences.

For some participants, activities like creating their own ice cream sundae also provide opportunities to explore new foods, practice flexibility, and step outside of their comfort zones in a supportive and encouraging environment.

The smiles, laughter, and excitement made this a truly memorable day, and we are so grateful to La Michoacana for helping make it possible. Community partnerships like yours help create meaningful experiences that support growth, friendship, and confidence for the children and teens we serve.

We’re so excited to announce that The G.R.O.W. Experience is now offering a TEEN group (ages 13–17)! 💚

This summer at The Ranch, kids and now teens can:
🐴 Connect with horses
🧠 Build social-emotional skills
🌱 Practice mindfulness & confidence
🤝 Strengthen relationships and communication

Individual weekly sessions are also available upon request for those looking for more personalized support.

Before it was The Ranch... it was drawing crowds of 6,700 people.

📰 A fascinating piece of history from the grounds we now call The Ranch...

While going through some old archives, we came across this newspaper article documenting a visit by future President Richard Nixon to the Joe Woods Roundup at Tom McKay's Triple R Ranch.

What caught our attention wasn't the politics—it was the history of this property.

The article describes thousands of people gathering at Triple R Ranch, with an estimated crowd of 6,700 people. Nixon spoke for about 40 minutes near an outdoor arena where a cutting horse competition was taking place.

Long before The Ranch became a place for horses, healing, learning, therapy programs, community events, and family experiences, these grounds were already bringing people together.

It's incredible to think about how many stories, memories, and milestones this property has witnessed over the decades.

Throwback to 1965 at The Ranch 🐎
Long before The Ranch became a place for therapy, connection, community events, and healing… it was home to something pretty incredible.

This newspaper clipping from October 7, 1965 highlights the “World’s Fastest Quarter Horses” racing at Triple R Ranch right here in Frankfort. Horses from 12 different states came to compete, with major stakes races, nationally known owners, celebrities in attendance, and some of the top Quarter Horses in the country racing on these grounds.

At the time, Quarter Horse racing was just beginning to grow in the Midwest, and Triple R Ranch played a role in bringing the sport to Illinois. Thousands gathered to watch these powerful horses compete on the Rio Rita track, making The Ranch a destination long before many people even knew Frankfort for what it is today.

It’s amazing to think about the history these grounds hold — from championship racehorses in the 1960s to the therapy horses, donkeys, families, clients, and community programs that fill The Ranch today. Different purpose… same spirit of bringing people together. ❤️

We love preserving the history of this special place while continuing to build its future.

Special awards including high point, best turnout horse/rider pair, and more will be given out at each and every show! Qualify for Championships and join us at the end of the year banquet for even more exciting surprises!

This is a circuit you won't want to miss as we continue to grow towards bigger and exciting things in the near future!
