Just one more tiny nap. He’s not lazy. He’s studying. 😴
Sleep may help your dog remember what they learned. In one study, dogs learning “sit” in a new language did better after about an hour of sleep. In a second group of 53 dogs, a nap or a walk after the lesson helped them remember. More training right away didn’t.
A week later, the dogs that slept, walked or played had improved. The ones that kept learning new commands right after the lesson hadn’t.
So after class, end on a good note and let your dog rest.
