Rocko is still waiting for a forever home. And he’s super hopeful because there has been a surplus of eager adopters out there, who are willing to be patient, who are willing to work with differing medical, behavioral, and adjustment needs, and who are willing to do whatever it takes!
Okay, we get that those adopters want to be part of the rescue beagle stories, but what if we told you every dog has a story? Every dog deserves that same commitment? Rocko included.
Rocko suffered too. He has idiopathic epilepsy and this went untreated, negatively impacting him neurologically. He also almost died from heat stroke. He went without companionship for up to 16 hours a day.
Rocko is on the right treatment plan for his epilepsy since being in foster and his seizures are well managed, going from the reported 1-3 a day for a year, to only 1 in the last 3 months. He doesn’t want to live a busy life. He wants to stay home (with the exception of walks) without a bunch of visitors or kids, listen to birds outside, not be picked up, sit on your couch, have a consistent schedule, and head scratches. He’s fine with dogs if they don’t want to play or aren’t reactive. He likes lazy. He likes slow and steady without a lot of transition. He needs a routine.
He has a story too. And he won’t be for everyone, but we hope he’ll find the right home for him.
