I had a few thought in the last few weeks that are worth sharing... 🧐

Your dog’s coat is their superhero cape. Regular grooming every six to eight weeks keeps that coat strong and shiny, while our hands and eyes look and feel for hidden threats. We have caught lumps and cysts that turned out to be cancer, getting those dogs help in time. It’s more than grooming—it’s lifesaving care.

We have also had some difficult grooms recently… Senior dogs with health issues and some dogs with behavioral issues that need extra time and attention.

Grooming senior dogs or those with behavior issues is extra tough because they often can’t stand comfortably for long, their skin gets thinner and more sensitive, and they get easily overwhelmed. Arthritis makes them stiff, anxiety makes them snap or freeze, and they don’t bounce back like younger dogs do. We have to go slower, use more breaks, and sometimes switch tools just to keep everyone safe.

We are definitely a team and always have a team approach to each groom. The phrase “it takes a village” comes to mind 🐶🐾😊

We also have, in the last month, removed many ticks. That is another important reason to have your dogs regularly groomed. 🐶

Grooming, on a regular basis ( every 6 to 4 weeks) keeps your dog’s coat healthy, prevents painful mats, and lets us catch lumps or skin issues early—sometimes even cancer. It’s essential care, not just a luxury.
