Let’s be honest... who wouldn’t want a dog named Happy?

And here’s the part we just don’t understand: why is nobody choosing him?

Happy is a 3-year-old, 60-pound Mountain Cur mix, and he truly is the full package. He’s handsome, athletic, affectionate, smart, playful, loyal, and has a wonderful off-switch when the fun is over.

Happy is the kind of dog who is ready when you are.

Want to go for a long walk? He’s in.
Planning a hike? Grab his leash.
Want to throw a ball around the yard? He’s already waiting.
Ready to binge-watch TV afterward? Perfect. Happy is an expert at relaxing, too.

He’s fully housebroken, walks nicely on leash, and knows sit, stay, come, leave it, and down/off. He’s smart, food motivated, and eager to keep learning.

And then there’s the part of Happy’s story that makes us especially proud.

He has come SO far.

When Happy first arrived from the shelter, he needed time to discover that people could be trusted, that life could be fun, and that he was finally safe. Today, he’s a much more confident dog who is ready to experience life with his own family.

Recently, Happy even went on a little vacation and stayed with another foster family. Different house? No problem. New people? Bring them on. New dog buddy? Even better!

He settled right in, got along with everyone, and had an absolute blast playing with his buddy Rex in the yard. He showed everyone just how adaptable, easygoing, and fun this guy can be.

Happy currently lives with two other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. A playful dog who wants to run, wrestle, and have fun would be a great match, but Happy could also happily be your one-and-only best friend. He does think squirrels and rabbits are highly suspicious, though, so a cat-free home would suit him best.

And when the day winds down, Happy is happy to just be with his people. He’ll nap while you work, hang out nearby while you relax, or stretch out beside you for a night of TV.

He doesn’t need a fancy life.

He just wants his people.

Someone to take him on adventures. Someone to toss the ball. Someone to scratch his ears. Someone to laugh at his goofy antics. Someone to tell him he’s a good boy and mean it.

After everything he’s been through, Happy has done his part. He’s worked on his confidence. He’s learned. He’s grown. He’s shown us what a wonderful dog he is.

Now he just needs someone to choose him.

Because honestly... we can’t figure out why that hasn’t happened yet.

Happy isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for a person or family who will see what we see: a really special dog who has so much love and life left to give.

Maybe you’re the person he’s been waiting for.

If your idea of the perfect dog is part adventure buddy, part comedian, part couch companion, and 100% loyal best friend, Happy would really like to meet you.

Fosters Needed for THIS Saturday 8/22!

First up...
2 male 8 month old "DoberDoodles" or are they "Doodleman Pinschers"? Whatever you call them, they're adorable!

Someone in Tennessee thought it would be a good idea to breed a Doberman female and a Doodle male...but no one wanted to buy them down there...so here they are.

We will not say they are non-shedding, they are mixed breeds. They are said to be sweet and social.

Looking for 2 separate foster homes for these beautiful boys.

While you foster, Safe Haven provides all supplies and vetting at our participating vets office, you supply love and a place to land out of the heat while they find their forever families.

Meet Moose — Your 85-Lb Sidekick Is Reporting for Duty

Meet Moose, an 85-lb, 212-year-old neutered bully breed with a heart just as oversized as the rest of him.

Moose is the kind of guy who doesnt need much—just his person, some structure, a little adventure, and A LOT of love. Hes a big, lovable goofball who firmly believes an 85-lb dog can still be a lap dog. Physics says otherwise. Moose remains unconvinced.

What hes really looking for is a best buddy. Someone to hang out with. Someone to be his person. Someone who appreciates a loyal sidekick who will happily accompany you on car rides, supervise household activities, and provide unsolicited neighborhood security services.

Going somewhere? Moose is ready.
Staying home? Even better.
Watching TV? Hell take the spot next to you.
Need a personal space heater? Hes got that covered.
Need someone to tell your secrets to? Moose is an excellent listener.

Moose is looking for a dog-free home where he can be the one and only four-legged VIP. He would thrive with someone who can provide love, structure, exercise, training, and plenty of time together.

And this guy has been hitting the books! Moose completed training with Jaybird Dog Training in DeKalb, where he learned SO much, mastered his basics, and discovered that being a good boy comes with excellent benefits—especially when treats are involved. Hes smart, eager to please, food-motivated, and ready to keep learning.

Mooses unofficial skill set:
85-lb weighted blanket
Professional sunbather
Olympic-level back sleeper
Car ride enthusiast
Big kiss distributor
Treat-taking expert
Neighborhood watch captain
Couch companion extraordinaire
Part-time lap dog with absolutely no concept of his size
Certified good boy
Future best friend

Moose doesnt need a fancy lifestyle. He needs someone who will give him direction, consistency, affection, and a place to belong.

Maybe youre a guy looking for a four-legged wingman. Maybe youre a couple looking for a giant cuddle buddy. Maybe you just have room in your life for one very large, very goofy, very lovable character.

Whatever your situation, Moose is ready to meet his people.

Come for the giant head. Stay for the snoring. Leave with a best friend.

Interested in Moose? Email [email protected] for an adoption application or additional details.

Our standard adoption fee is $450 if paid by cash or check, or $465 if paid by credit card (which includes a processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, f***l testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping.

If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at [email protected] to request an application.

🐾 Meet Ginger Snap – Your New Snuggle Buddy! 🐾

Sweet, social, affectionate, and always ready for some love, Ginger Snap is looking for a family to call her own!

Ginger Snap is housebroken, great with kids, and knows basic commands like sit, down, and off. She loves being around her people and is happiest when she can be part of the action.

Once she's settled in, she's a total snuggler who loves being close to her people and soaking up all the affection she can get.

❤️ Great with kids
🐾 Social and affectionate
🏡 Housebroken
🎓 Knows sit, down, and off
💕 Loyal, cuddly, and well-mannered

❤️ Ginger Snap's Lesson in Being Perfectly You ❤️

Ginger Snap has a little something that makes her unique—and we think that's pretty special.

Ginger is a spayed female who was discovered to be intersex during her spay surgery. The veterinarian found a small, naturally occurring structure resembling a p***s. It causes no health concerns, requires no special care, and does not affect her health or quality of life.

We know the world can sometimes focus on what makes someone different. We prefer to celebrate it. Ginger doesn't care that she's a little different—she just knows she loves people, loves cuddles, and is ready to be someone's very special girl.

She doesn't need to be "fixed" or changed. She just needs a family who will love Ginger Snap exactly as she is. ❤️

If you're searching for a loving companion who will happily become your shadow and fill your home with cuddles, Ginger Snap might be your perfect match! 🐾
