Jasper ❤️ boy is he looking good!
He is 14 this year and is coming in clutch for c**t starting and lessons.
For those of you who didn't grow up with me, I started Jasper in high school as my senior project. He was the first c**t I had ever started. And boy I didn't know a thing! There isn't a single horse I have fallen off of more times than him. But because it was a rough start, I looked deeper into what I could do better and have only continued to keep learning since. Now he is good ole reliable😍

The only reason Peanut is not further along is because I am too busy training for the public to focus time on my own horses. That being said, serious inquiries only!

ISO: Someone who wants to learn about horses! I have many types/ages/levels of horses in training and I am looking for part-time barn help or a horsemanship intern from now until the end of October. No horse experience required, but it is preferred. Duties include cleaning pens, saddling, feeding, and cooling out horses. 20 to 25 hours a week, with many learning opportunities from private lessons to c**t-starting. Stipend to help cover fuel. If you're dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn, send me a message. I will NOT be responding to comments!

This mare has been a huge challenge for me. She is difficult to read and I could not always tell how much she was tuning me out or how uncomfortable she was. She has taken about 2x longer than the majority of c**ts that I start. She is 5 years old, timid, and unconfident in herself. I think that is partly why she is more challenging. Here is her progress from the last few weeks, and now she is finally rolling. This is why foundation is important, and why free feet are important.
This mare is super athletic and will be here for one more month to get her more solid in her foundation.
Also, this is one example of why I require 3 months on c**t starts, and that I do not ever want to feel rushed to help a horse through difficult situations.
