Shorty’s Training and Shoeing

09/26/2026

I have a few openings for training for fall and winter. I will be doing a few gathers to bring cows home and that will include mountain riding, going down the road and then through town; along with some sorting. And for the winter there will be more refining work, arena stuff and ground work, more slow stuff and possibly calving work. Send your babies, colts, or broke horses.

The newest addition to my training program. Miss Lena. A 5 year old mare. In for some miles and confidence building. I think she is darling.

Alright lets hear it. Looking for some corrective criticism or kind comments. Keep in mind he was very past due. He has a history of pulling his front shoe so I brought the toe back and also tried to stand him up just a hair and adjusted the heels on the front shoe without restricting them.I see some things i could change or get better at but i want to know what you think. Would you be pleased with this job or not. Only helpful comments nothing rude. No one woke up knowing everything.

He has made me so proud. He is a working machine without being hot. And will go anywhere you ask. Have been having some issues with crossing some ditches. And that’s ok some of them will swallow you whole. But he has just took everything I have thrown at him and has come out better on the other side. And is teaching me a lot.
