I also moved the last hatch of Ermine Americauna and Dominant White Americauna chicks into their larger grow-out pen today. Everyone is settling in nicely and doing great!

These chicks are growing fast, feathering out beautifully, and showing the strong, healthy development I strive for in my breeding program. It’s always exciting to watch them mature and start to see their individual qualities emerge.

I still have chicks available in several age groups, from newly hatched to old enough to begin s*xing. If you’ve been thinking about adding some unique, quality Americaunas to your flock, now is a great time to get them before they’re gone.

Finally caught up after the cold weather delays and got these ermine Americauna and dominate white Americauna chicks moved into their new digs!

They now have so much more room to stretch out, flap their wings, explore, and grow. It’s always fun to see how much happier and more active they are once they have a little extra space. These youngsters are growing fast and looking great! 🐥❤️

The first Hookbill ducklings that hatched have been moved to a larger pen, and I’m loving how they’re coming along. They’re developing beautifully, showing some lovely colors and strong growth already. I can definitely see a few keepers in this clutch!

It’s always exciting to watch these young birds mature and start showing their potential.

Latest Hookbill ducklings hatched today and have just been moved to the brooder! They’re still pretty quiet after their big day, but it won’t be long before they’re up, exploring, and getting into everything.

Every hatch is exciting, especially as I continue working to preserve and improve this wonderful breed. 🦆💕

Dominant White Americauna Update

I have separated my oldest Dominant White Americaunas. This fall, I’ll be selecting next year’s breeding stock from this group.

They are absolutely beautiful birds, and I expect to have some available after I make my final selections. Choosing this year’s breeders is going to be more difficult than ever because the quality continues to improve with each generation.

It’s exciting to see years of selective breeding paying off in these birds! 🐔

It’s been a little crazy on the farm with days on end of rain. I typically rotate the chicks, poults, and ducklings into bigger brooders and pens as they grow, but the next step after my barn brooders would normally be outside. Unfortunately, the weather just hasn’t cooperated and those pens aren’t weather-tight enough for babies yet.

So I’ve had to get a little creative to keep everybody warm, dry, and cozy.

These two-week-old Ermine and Dominant white Americauna chicks were definitely ready for more space, so they’ve upgraded to this giant tub brooder and I think they’re pretty pleased with the arrangement!

Best hatch rate so far! 97% of my Ermine and dominant white Ameraucana eggs have hatched! These chicks are super healthy...

Best hatch rate so far! 97% of my Ermine and dominant white Ameraucana eggs have hatched! These chicks are super healthy, extra fluffy, and absolutely adorable.

I have several groups available now, ranging from chicks old enough to s*x to brand new hatchlings. Lots of choices for anyone looking to add something special to their flock.

This will be my last hatch of the spring, so once these are gone, that’s it until later in the year!

Fresh batch of Guinea Fowl Keets available! I have eight very healthy young pearl-colored keets looking for new farms to call home. These little ones are active, thriving, and already showing their hardy personalities.

Guinea fowl are excellent for natural tick and bug control, great alarm birds, and a beautiful addition to any homestead. Message me if you’re interested or would like more information!
