Morwenna has been in her new home for a few days now, and every single day I’m getting rave reviews about how well she’s doing.

Her new partner, Rufus, historically did not like puppies at all. His owner had spent several years trying to find the right companion for him. Rufus also struggles with severe separation anxiety, to the point that she hasn’t been able to leave him alone for years.

I told her I would keep a puppy back for her, complete all of the foundation training, and then have Rufus come stay with me so I could work on building their bond the right way from the start.

Morwenna has transitioned beautifully, and all of her training is holding strong. She will stay in a place command for over an hour without issue. She walks alongside Rufus beautifully on leash. She even attended Pilates class and calmly held her place stay while everything was going on around her.

For a 4½-month-old puppy, she is absolutely phenomenal.

This may very well be one of my favorite projects yet. I love puppies, and I know what they’re capable of with the right structure, expectations, and training. Morwenna has truly validated my methods and expectations, and I could not be happier or more proud of this little dog.

Morwenna has completed all of her foundation training and is doing fabulously. I couldn’t be happier with how well she has absorbed everything—it’s been such a joy to watch her grow and learn.

Today I pick up her partner, Rufus, and we’ll spend the next couple of weeks bonding them and working them together. Rufus isn’t the biggest fan of puppies, so I’ve been very intentional about keeping Morwenna calm, thoughtful, and easy to call off. My hope is that they’ll not only learn to work well together, but also find some fun along the way.

A lot of friends and family ask how I can keep a puppy for nearly three months and not be heartbroken when she goes home. The honest answer is that every step of her training has been done with her future in mind—everything tailored to help her thrive in her new home.

I’ve truly loved working with her. It’s been a fun and rewarding project, and I’m excited for the life and partnership ahead of her.

Morwenna is having so much fun learning her “place” stay! 🐾

This simple skill opens the door to so much more freedom around the house. Instead of being underfoot while you’re cooking or scrambling when the doorbell rings, she knows exactly where to go and how to settle.

“Place” isn’t just about obedience—it helps create calm, structure, and inclusion. Morwenna can relax in her spot when guests arrive and still be part of the group without the chaos.

A confident dog with clear boundaries is a happy dog—and she’s well on her way! 💛

🐾 14 Weeks and Thriving! 🐾

Morwenna is continuing to mature beautifully and is excelling in all aspects of her training and manners. Her owner visits weekly, and it’s clear how much she recognizes and adores her!

In the coming month, her older corgi will join us, and I’ll be working with them together—a new and exciting chapter. This project has been such a joy, and Morwenna has truly surpassed my expectations. She’s growing into an absolutely lovely corgi, both in character and charm.

I couldn’t be prouder of her progress! 🐶💛

Potty training is a process — and consistency is everything 🐾✨

With our black tri Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, Morwenna, we’re focusing on building clear routines and celebrating every success.

Here’s what’s working for us:
✔️ Nap = crate time
✔️ Wake up = straight outside
✔️ Potty outside = BIG praise and excitement

This video shows Morwenna’s very first p**p outside 🎉 You can already see she understands how happy it makes me when she goes in the right spot. That proud little strut says it all!

Potty training doesn’t happen overnight, but patience, structure, and positive reinforcement build confidence quickly. Celebrate the small wins — they turn into big results. 💛🐶

Way to go, Morwenna!

It’s so important for puppies to learn how to self-soothe from an early age. Whether it’s toys, chews, or enrichment activities, giving them appropriate ways to entertain themselves builds confidence and independence.

Teaching a puppy to be comfortable on their own is one of the first and most important steps in preventing future separation anxiety. A dog that can relax and settle without constant attention grows into a calmer, more emotionally balanced companion.

Start early. Build independence. Prevent problems before they begin.
