What to Do If Your Pet Gets Sprayed by a Skunk

🦨 Be prepared for the stanky leg, the stanky face, and everything else!
Dogs having run-ins with skunks happen more often than you'd think—and the smell is no joke. Here are a few things we recommend:

✅ Keep your pet outside initially, if possible, to avoid spreading the odor throughout your home.

✅ Check their eyes. If they're irritated, gently flush with water. If you notice redness in the eyes, your pet is vomiting, has excessive drooling, or shows other concerning signs, call us immediately (https://www.petvet365.com/locations/cypress).

✅ Skip the tomato juice. Despite the myth, it doesn't actually remove skunk odor.

✅ Use a veterinarian-recommended odor-neutralizing solution.
