2 Paws Up to our June Volunteer of the Month, Ella Roxey! Ella fosters adult cats and currently has bonded cats Floyd & Earl. More photos of them will be in the comments. Ella would rather THEY get the attention than her with this post. Fosters who take in adult cats are so greatly appreciated because there are some that have difficulty adjusting to a shelter environment, need daily medications, etc. Watching them turn into their true selves once in a home environment is so rewarding to Ella. She's fostered 15 so far and encourages others to consider fostering adult cats in need of a foster home to thrive. Thank you Ella! We appreciate you so much.

Just a few of the little faces we have taken in over the last couple weeks. Sickly, dehydrated, emaciated. Born on the street, luckily some kind soul found them hopefully in the nick of time. We are doing our best to get them healthy, save their eyes, save their lives. It's only going to get worse in the next few weeks because of all the unspayed cats delivering litters outside. The expense will drain our resources. We would greatly appreciate your support.

Arlo is estimated to be 6 years old and was unfortunately found abandoned. This handsome orange & white gentleman has a unique face that makes it even harder to resist when he stares at you insistently, requesting treats or maybe a Churu if you’d be so kind. His ear is crumpled from an old, healed hematoma and it gives him a goofy charm. Arlo is one of the first cats to greet visitors at the Adoption Center, usually found in the front window waiting for someone to sit on the bench. He loves to curl up next to someone and is slowly learning about this “lap cat” concept that us humans seem to enjoy. Interested in Arlo or any of our other adoptable cats? Submit an adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoptions.html and stop by the Center to meet him!

What’s better than one cat? Two cats! And there is something special about bonded cats - two cats that have formed a close relationship, like to be together and are truly healthy and happy when their soul-cat is near. Come meet the two bonded pairs currently up for adoption and residing at our partner store, Petco - Lennox Town Center.

Kizzy (F tabby) and Sticky (M orange & white) are one year old, rescued together. Kizzy is shy and a bit scared so is looking for a patient adopter. She relies on Sticky to feel safe. Sticky is the complete opposite - he loves people and soaks up all the attention he can. But he’s always looking around to make sure Kizzy is near.

Pima (F orange tabby) and Catalina (F black) are 10 month old sisters who were part of a trap/neuter/release but were quite happy to exchange life on the streets for the indoor life. They like to play, cuddle and sleep together. Although still a bit shy they enjoy pets and would love a quiet home where they can settle in at their own pace.

Come visit Kizzy/Sticky and Pima/Catalina at Petco - Lennox Town Center. If you are interested in adopting and discovering the joy a bonded pair can bring, fill out an application at: https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html

Meet Nutmeg, a 1-year-old tabby girl. She came to Colony Cats like so many young female strays - with a litter of kittens despite practically being a kitten herself. Now that her babies are weaned, she’s ready for her own (human) family! Nutmeg is playful and silly, often seen chasing toys around the Adoption Center or rolling around on a cat tree before settling down for a nap. Interested in Nutmeg or any of our other adoptable cats? Submit an adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoptions.html and stop by the Center to meet her!

Scooter has it right! There are all kinds of cats and kittens that need fosters. Colony Cats is currently seeking new fosters for all types of cats! If you are interested, please submit the application on our website.

Fostering can benefit any shelter cat! It helps them become more socialized, which makes them more adoptable. If you have space in your home and your heart, sign up to foster with your local shelter.
