Shameless Litter Update 💕
Our Shameless family is growing up beautifully! Mama Fiona is a stunning calico — loving, protective, and just a little spicy when it comes to her babies. Her kittens, Veronica, Debbie, Carl, and Liam, are thriving and look to be gorgeous Turkish Van mixes.

Fiona will be spayed soon, and as the kittens complete their spay/neuter vet care, they’ll all be ready for adoption — ideally in pairs so they can keep their sibling bond. These sweet kitties are playful, affectionate, and full of personality.

If you’re interested in adopting a pair of kittens or giving Fiona her forever home, please complete our online adoption application at www.petpromise.org (link in bio). We’d love to start finding their new families now so they’re ready to go home as soon as they’re cleared by our vet team.

We can’t wait to see these beautiful babies find their happy endings! 💕🐾

🐾 From rescue to birthday boy! 🎉
Last winter, little Otis found his forever home with the wonderful Gilliland family — and look at him now, celebrating his first birthday surrounded by love (and two fellow black‑and‑white siblings who prove this family has a theme!). 💕
What began as a rescue story turned into a tale of joy, snuggles, and second chances. We’re so grateful for families like the Gillilands who open their hearts to homeless pets and show what love can do.
Join us in wishing Otis a very happy 1st birthday — send him all your head‑butts, scritches, and birthday cheer! 🐱🎂

🐾 Urgent Foster Needed for Turnip Turnip is a sweet, petite brown tabby (about 8 lbs) who has been loved deeply her whole life. She’s three years old, gentle, affectionate, and has been blind in one eye since birth, but it doesn’t slow her down—she navigates her world beautifully and loves people.

Her mom is leaving Ohio due to a domestic violence crisis and is unable to bring Turnip to her temporary safe housing. She is working on securing long‑term housing out of state, but Turnip needs a safe place now—ideally starting this weekend!

Turnip is:

• Sweet, calm, and loving
• Small/medium-sized
• Easy to care for
• Desperately in need of a safe landing spot

We are begging for an immediate foster to keep this little girl safe while her mom gets back on her feet. If you can open your home—even temporarily—you will be giving Turnip safety, stability, and love during the hardest moment of her life.

If you can help, please reach out right away. We need you.

Rufus’ story began on one of the stormiest nights of the year. During a severe thunderstorm, he appeared on his foster family’s doorstep looking for help.

From the moment he came inside, Rufus has been nothing short of extraordinary. He is one of the sweetest cats we have ever met. He isn’t shy or fearful—instead, he greets people with loud purrs the moment you walk into the room. In fact, he purrs so hard that he sometimes drools! He absolutely loves people and is happiest when he’s curled up in your lap soaking up all the pets and attention he can get.

What makes Rufus so special isn’t just that he’s friendly—its how completely he trusts and loves people despite having once been on his own outdoors. Hes the kind of cat who wants to be near his people, follows you from room to room, happily settles into your lap, and makes every day a little brighter with his affectionate personality.

Now fully neutered, vaccinated, and negative for both FIV and FeLV, Rufus is ready to leave his days of surviving outside behind forever.

If you’re looking for a cat who will greet you with enthusiastic purrs, be your cuddle buddy, and become a true member of the family, Rufus is your boy. Rufus is a once-in-a-lifetime cat whose loving personality makes him impossible to forget. After arriving on a doorstep during a thunderstorm, all he needs now is one last bit of luck—a forever home filled with the love he so freely gives to everyone around him.

Could you be the happy ending Rufus has been waiting for?

When residents of a local apartment complex discovered a mother cat and her four tiny kittens living in a storage bin near the dumpster, they couldn’t turn away. Despite strict rules—and even fines—for feeding or sheltering stray cats, these kindhearted neighbors quietly did what they could to keep the little family safe.

When PetPromise learned of their situation, we stepped in to rescue Miss Fiona and her babies—Sheila, Liam, Carl, and Debbie. Fiona had been fiercely protecting her kittens through every hardship, and thanks to her devotion and the residents’ compassion, all are now safe, warm, and thriving.

Each kitten will soon be neutered/spayed, vaccinated, tested, and treated for parasites, and ready to find loving homes. We ask that kittens under six months be adopted in pairs to support their social and developmental development. Miss Fiona will also be spayed and ready for adoption soon—she’s a beautiful calico with a heart as strong as her spirit.

If you’d like to adopt Miss Fiona or two of her sweet babies when they are spayed/neutered please complete an adoption application (link in our bio) and help this brave little family begin their next chapter.

❤️ HELP US KEEP HIS STORY GOING

Against all odds, Petey survived what should have been the end.

This soulful pup was scheduled for euthanasia under Ohio’s Avery’s Law after a bite incident — a heartbreaking moment that could have closed his story forever.

But compassion stepped in.

Thanks to your support, PetPromise worked with Last Minute Dog Rescue and Redemption Road Rescue & Rehab, two incredible out‑of‑state partners who specialize in helping dogs with good hearts but serious behavioral challenges. Together, they saw what we saw in Petey — a spark worth saving.

And now… Petey is safe.
He’s wagging his tail at a rehabilitation ranch, learning to trust again, surrounded by people who dedicate their lives to helping dogs like him find peace, confidence, and stability.

🐾 His Journey Isn’t Over

Petey’s rehabilitation will take time, patience, and expert one‑on‑one care.
He’s making progress every day — but his future depends on continued funding for his training, daily care, and sanctuary support.

Your donation helps cover:

• Professional behavior rehabilitation
• Daily enrichment and structure
• Veterinary care and supplies
• Specialized training tools
• Continued sanctuary support if Petey remains at the ranch long‑term

Every dollar goes directly to the rescues and trainers who are giving Petey his third chance — the chance he almost never got.

💛 Why We’re Asking

PetPromise isn’t trying to reclaim Petey.
We’re standing beside the people who saved him — because we believe every life deserves a chance at redemption when experts see potential.

Petey’s story is one of hope, partnership, and compassion.
It’s about what happens when rescues work together to do what’s right.

💔 In Loving Memory of Lyra (Marge)

Born July 1, 2025 • Passed June 9, 2026
Forever loved by the Callahan family and all of us at PetPromise

Some stories are heartbreakingly short — but filled with more love than most get in a lifetime.
Lyra (known to us as little Marge from the Simpson litter) was born under a deck last summer and rescued with her siblings. She grew up surrounded by kindness, and last fall, she found her forever family — the Callahans — who adored her from the moment they met her.

At just nine months old, Lyra was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Her family did everything possible to give her comfort, care, and joy. They gave her the happiest life a kitten could ever hope for — full of snuggles, laughter, and unconditional love.

Last night, Lyra passed peacefully at home, held in the arms of the people who loved her most. Her brother Leo (formerly Millhouse) and her family are heartbroken, as are all of us who knew her story.

Lyra’s life reminds us that rescue isn’t just about saving lives — it’s about filling them with love, no matter how long or short their time may be.

Rest in peace, sweet Lyra.
You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten. 💛🐾

2 Teen Mama Cats + 10 Seven‑Week‑Old Kittens Need Safe Foster Homes NOW 🐾This is one of the most intense rescue situations we’ve faced this summer!

We were told there were six kittens on the west side.
Six became eight… then nine… and there is still one tiny baby hiding somewhere among old garages and collapsing sheds. We are out there every day trying to find him.

And the mothers?
They’re barely adults themselves — two young Russian Blue–mix sisters born last fall, still practically kittens, trying to raise babies in dangerous conditions.

We have one mama safely inside (shy, gentle, needs a patient foster).
The second mama is still out there with the last missing kitten — and we are working desperately to bring them in.

Right now we have:

• 9 kittens in ONE foster home
• 2 teen mama cats
• 1 missing kitten still in danger
• 0 available foster spaces

We must split these babies into small groups of 3–5 kittens so they can be socialized, handled, and prepared for adoption during this crucial developmental window.

❤️ We Need Foster Homes Immediately

If you can foster 3, 4, or 5 kittens, or one of the young mama cats, you will literally change the trajectory of their lives.

They are:

• Sweet
• Curious
• Healthy
• Ready to be loved
• At the PERFECT age for socialization

And yes — they have adorable “wing seasoning” names:
Ghost Pepper, Buffalo, Honey Barbecue, Mango Habanero, Teriyaki, Jamaican Jerk, Carolina Gold, Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Chili, and mama Blue Cheese.
(Plus the little white baby still hiding, and the second Russian Blue teen mama we’re trying to catch.)

We also have brothers two teen boys from last fall’s litter — one Russian Blue, one tabby — who need fosters too.
You give give them shelter, food, and love — we do the rest.

🙏 Please — if you’ve ever thought about fostering, THIS is the moment.

These babies deserve a chance at a safe, loving life.
You can give them that.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER PLEA — COLUMBUS, OH 🚨

🐾 Mama cat + SIX 6‑week‑old kittens need a safe place TONIGHT 🐾

These babies are in danger right now. They’ve just become active, and there are loose dogs in the neighborhood. We cannot leave them there another night.

They are STUNNING Russian Blue/gray and Siamese mixes — tiny, healthy, playful, and completely innocent.
Mama is gentle and doing her best… but she can’t protect six babies alone.

💔 If we don’t move them, we could lose them.

A spare bedroom, laundry room, or large bathroom for 4–6 weeks.
That’s it. A door that closes = their safety.

We’ll cover vet care and get them adopted….if you can spare a little space in your home and your love/time.

🙏 Please — if you’ve ever thought about fostering, THIS is the moment.

You can literally save seven lives with one “yes.”

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR PETEY — SAVED FROM EUTHANASIA, NOW FIGHTING FOR HIS FUTURE 🚨

Petey shouldn’t even be here today.
This 10‑month‑old pointer‑pitbull mix was scheduled for euthanasia at Franklin County Dog Shelter back in January — just a scared puppy who didn’t understand why leashes and strangers with leashes meant pain. We stepped in because we saw him. We saw a gentle, goofy soul who deserved a chance.
Now, that chance is slipping away.

His foster family — the ones who helped him learn that people can be kind — are traveling this summer. And unless we find a new foster immediately, Petey will have to go into boarding. For a dog who was once terrified of shelter life, that could undo everything he’s worked so hard to overcome. Meet Petey

Petey is sweet, loyal, and playful — a 44‑lb mix of energy and affection. He loves other dogs, thrives in a fenced yard, and melts into his people once he feels safe.
But leashes still scare him. We believe he was abused, and straps or leashes were part of that trauma. He’s making progress, but he needs someone patient and experienced — someone who understands that healing takes time.

🐾 What He Needs

• A fenced yard for safe play and potty breaks
• A foster with dog experience and a calm, confident presence
• Slow introductions to new people
• Willingness to help him continue learning that leashes and strangers aren’t scary
Petey is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to keep learning how good life can be.

❤️ Why It Matters

Petey was terrified at the shelter — frozen, trembling, unable to trust. In his foster home, he’s blossomed into a loving, loyal companion.
He just needs someone to keep showing him that people are good.

Please, help us keep him out of boarding and in a home where he can keep healing.

His future depends on it.
