PetPromise, Inc. PetPromise is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer pet rescue dedicated to saving the lives of homeless pets. WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER. We receive no governmental funding.

PetPromise is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization. All of the pets available for adoption are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. We are a no-kill animal welfare organization and does not support euthanasia as a method of population control. We help many pets that other shelters and rescues would consider "unadoptable" due to age, medical condition, or breed. PetPromise is supported solely by public and private donations and volunteer fundraising.

Update on Mama Cat & Her Kittens ❤️🐾

Last night was nothing short of a miracle for this little family. Thank you to Laura, the kind soul who found Mama Cat and her three tiny babies shivering on a back porch and reached out for help. Because of you, their story didn’t end in fear. It turned into hope.

And a huge shout‑out to Deborah, who stepped up at 11 PM without hesitation and said she would take in Mama and her kittens. Thanks to her, these babies went from a cold porch to a warm, safe home where they are loved, protected, and finally able to rest. See what your compassion made possible.

We are so grateful to every one of you who shared, commented, and helped spread the word. These babies will need care for the next few months, and knowing they’re safe tonight is a blessing we couldn’t have reached without you.

Special thanks again to Deborah for opening her heart and home. And thank you to all of you . T ogether, we saved this sweet mama and her precious little ones. ❤️

COLUMBUS FRIENDS: ‼️We have an urgent situation tonight. ‼️
We were called about a very sweet, gentle young mama cat delivered four kittens about nine days ago outside a rental home. The person living there has a dog who will kill cats, so the mama has been staying on the porch for safety. She’s doing her best, but the cold has already taken one of her babies. The mama is trying desperately to keep the others warm.

They need a safe room immediately.

We are looking for someone who can foster this mama and her three tiny tabby babies. Mama is incredibly sweet, adaptable, and still practically a kitten herself. They simply cannot stay outside another night.

Every time you see an Ohio Pet Friendly License Plate on the road… a life has been changed! That plate helps fund spay/neuter programs for homeless, abandoned, and abused pets — and supports rescue organizations like PetPromise who fight every day to give animals a second chance.

For 20 years, the Ohio Pet Fund has quietly done lifesaving work. Their board members take no salary, and every dollar goes directly toward reducing euthanasia and helping Ohio’s cats and dogs.

This year, grant funding is lower — and they need our help.

Carolina Gold and Ghost Pepper were born outdoors to a teen mama who fought every single day to keep her babies alive. Nine kittens. No shelter. No safety. Just a determined young mother doing the impossible.

By the time PetPromise found them, they were somehow 8 weeks old, a miracle in itself.

Four of their siblings have already been adopted. But these two girls… they’re the ones who need a hero.

Carolina Gold and Ghost Pepper are the shyest babies in the entire litter. They cling to each other because they’ve always had each other. They are gentle, beautiful, sweet but they need a home where someone is willing to go all in to help them blossom.

Their foster parents work full‑time, and these girls need extra hands‑on love. More holding. More human contact. More time being someone’s center of attention.

✨ Papoosing can change their lives.

Papoosing is an old Native American practice for human babies that we use to bundle a shy kitten inside your shirt so they feel your warmth and heartbeat while you go about your day.
Fold laundry. Watch TV. Scroll your phone. Sweep the floor. Just keep them close.

Do this daily, for hours, and shy kittens transform. They bond. They trust. They bloom.

These girls need that. They deserve that.

💛 They must stay together.

Separating them now would be cruel they are all each other has left in this world. And together, they have the potential to become unbelievably loving, loyal, sweet members of a family.

💔 Their window for socialization is closing. Kittens only have so long to learn that humans are safe.

Sweet Piper came to PetPromise as a six‑month‑old kitten back in 2021 — tiny, gentle, and full of trust. She was adopted quickly and spent the next five years in the only home she had ever known. No other pets. No other people. Just her and her person.

And then, without warning, her world disappeared.

Her owner told us they were “no longer a great fit.” After five years together, Piper was returned to PetPromise — confused, grieving, and absolutely terrified. We placed her in an adoption enclosure at PetSmart so she could be seen… but she didn’t understand why she was there. She cried. She hid. She looked for the person who wasn’t coming back.

That’s when Kelley and Michael saw her.

They didn’t look away.
They didn’t say “she’s too scared.”
They said, “We want to help her.”

They arranged a meeting between Piper and get cat Daisy, hoping the girls might someday coexist. Daisy wasn’t sure. Piper wasn’t sure. Honestly — no one was sure. But Kelley and Michael made a promise: We will make this work.

And they meant it.

For months, they managed careful introductions — feeding the girls side‑by‑side with a gate between them, supervising every interaction, breaking up the occasional hissing match, giving each cat space to feel safe. They never rushed. They never gave up. They loved Daisy fiercely… and they loved Piper fiercely too.

Then came summer.

Every year, Kelley and Michael head to their New England home — and they always took their cats. So Daisy and Piper were packed up together for the long trip, two girls who weren’t quite friends but were learning, slowly, to share a world.

And something beautiful happened.

No, they didn’t become sisters overnight.
But they found peace.
They found tolerance.
They found a way to live side‑by‑side in harmony — each with their own space, their own routines, and parents who adore them equally.

Today, Piper is safe.
She is loved.
She is part of a family again — a real forever family because two people saw her heartbreak and chose compassion over convenience.

🐾 Debbie & Liam - Playful & Social

Debbie and Liam are two of a litter of four, and they are truly the best of friends. They spend their days wrestling, chasing toys, cuddling, and following each other from adventure to adventure. Debbie is the playful spark — always ready for fun, always the first to pounce, and always delighted to be the center of attention. Liam is her gentle sidekick — a big soft boy who loves cuddles, follows her lead, and becomes adorably enthusiastic at mealtime.

These two don’t have to be adopted together, but they absolutely thrive with another kitten their age. They would be happy going home as a pair, or each joining a family that already has a young kitten or adopting one of their siblings from PetPromise.

Debbie and Liam are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and ready for their forever homes.
