I’d like to start out and say I got this recipe from Poopnhopper farms page and man was it delish!

Mississippi Slow Cooker Dump Rabbit Dinner
If you haven’t tried Mississippi Rabbit yet, prepare to have your mind blown! This tangy, savory, slightly spicy dish has become a cult favorite for a reason—it’s ridiculously easy and incredibly delicious. The combination of ranch, au jus, and pepperoncini creates magic in your slow cooker!

Ingredients

2½ pounds Rabbit Thighs
1 packet 1 oz ranch seasoning mix
1 packet 1 oz au jus gravy mix
½ cup butter 1 stick
5-6 pepperoncini peppers
Method

Place Rabbit Thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
Sprinkle ranch seasoning and au jus mix over the chicken.
Place the stick of butter on top of the chicken and add the pepperoncini peppers around it.
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours until Rabbit is tender and shreds easily.
Shred Rabbit and remove the bones with two forks and stir into the sauce. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious

Sometimes, taking your rabbitry to the next level means bringing in new genetics yesterday was a great day for Dirty Harey Homestead!

We’re excited to welcome Little Whiskers Yeti and Hoot N’ Holler Snowflake to our Silver Fox program. These two beautiful does are going to play a huge role in strengthening our breeding program, especially as we continue working toward producing more Tort Silver Fox while maintaining the quality, temperament, and structure we strive for.

A huge THANK YOU to Scholar's Hollow Silver Fox for helping coordinate and assist with transport. We truly appreciate everything you do for the Dirty Harey Homestead and Silver Fox community!

Another big shout-out to Little Whiskers Rabbitry for entrusting us with Yeti. She carries every recognized color, including the Tort genetics, and we’re excited to see what she’ll produce here.

And thank you to Hoot'n Holler Rabbitry for Snowflake. She also carries all recognized colors and is a Tort carrier, making her another incredible addition to our breeding plans.

We’re blessed to be surrounded by breeders who are passionate about improving this amazing breed. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these girls and the impact they’ll have here at Dirty Harey Homestead!

These breeders are really putting in work on their Tort project and it’s great to be just the smallest piece of it!

Sorry we haven’t posted much here lately life has been a whirlwind, just like it has for everyone else! We wanted to hop on and give yall an update. We had our first real batch of grow outs head off to Camp Kenmore with 11 rabbits total! It was a bittersweet milestone, but it’s all part of raising rabbits for your homestead.
So far we’ve turned them into homemade broth, rabbit jerky, and some absolutely delicious Rabbit Crack Burritos they definitely live up to the name lol i also made up the recipe we used so there is that!

Now we’re curious… How many rabbits do you process at one time, How long does it take you ? And what’s your favorite way to use them?

Who all has been preserving their hard work Lately we’ve been busy making salsa and Pasta sauce. we’re actually using gifted ingredients from some great friends in our community Up Da Creek Acres had an abundance of extra tomato’s, basil, and oregano as well as some peppers too! these guys are the best!

Guys this heat is brutal
we lost another buck yesterday Grinning Fox Farms Adam. the heat was to much the GCFI to our fans tripped on Monday for about an hour during the peak of heat and the Carpet fans and exhaust fans i’ve bottles and fresh cold water was not enough we do have a misting system the last month has been a lot of bad luck for us here all the other buns in the barn are ok so far and making it (knock knock)
