Y'all! I am so proud of this one. I'm on a mission. To create a ton more meaningful memories with my family (and friends). And that includes hand making things that LAST. Things my kids and their kids will be able to remember me by. Things that will activate sweet core(childhood & adult) memories.
So, to the interwebs I went to research so many tutorials. I kinda mixed and matched a few to match my style. I don't have a sewing machine-which all the tutorials used. So, I quickly researched and learned a few basic sewing stitches and hand sewed every piece. My sweet mom helped sew a few of the banner pieces together one day a few weeks ago. So these have her sweet loving touch on them too. 🥺
Tomorrow is D's birthday, and of course, I woke up this morning in a panic, having forgotten this project half way done a week or so ago. (My fellow ADHD'ers will totally understand) But, pressure is my jam. I work best under it, through it and with it. And today I got it done.
It's FAR from perfect, the stitches a mess, as you'd expect a novice sewer (?) to produce. Some letters are crooked, nothing is exactly the same as the other, but dang, I think it's just adorable.
And just in time to welcome Derrick's final year in his thirties. 🎉
Can't wait to use this for all our
birthdays in the coming years ✨
