Are you bored this summer and needing something to do? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity for you that can help the dogs here at CHS, and keep you busy!

Because we are a no kill shelter, we have several dogs here that have spent 300+ days in a kennel, waiting for their forever home. Just like a person sitting in a jail cell, spending that much time locked up really starts to eat away at the mind. We try our very best to help these dogs as much as we can, but we only have so many employees, with only so much free time after cleaning, and very few volunteers. These dogs need out, even for just an hour, 2 hours, 1 day. They need to see that there is still more to life than just sitting in a kennel, anxious and stressed out.

We are asking for volunteers that would be willing to help us walk dogs, take them out into our play yards to run, or even better, take them out away from the shelter completely to go walk on a trail, get a pup cup, or just do something fun! This not only helps to boost their mental health, taking them out into the community, exposes them to potential adopters who get to see them at their best, instead of behind a kennel door. If you can help please stop by the shelter so we can get you started on some volunteer paperwork ❤️ 🐕‍🦺😍

Usually I like to keep things light and just share cute dog pictures, but today I wanted to share something a little more personal.

Recently, I had someone become upset because I wasn’t able to offer them a same-day appointment. It really bothered me, and for a while I found myself wondering if I had done something wrong.

Then I reminded myself that I’m doing the very best I can.

One of the things I’m most proud of at Country Pup Parlor is that I offer one-on-one grooming. Your dog isn’t rushed through an assembly line. They get my full attention in a quiet, low-stress environment. That’s exactly the kind of salon I set out to create.

Because I groom one dog at a time, my schedule often books several weeks in advance. I always do my best to work people in as quickly as possible, and I often work evenings and weekends to help accommodate busy schedules. If I have a cancellation, I’ll post it, and if I can fit someone in, I absolutely will. But unfortunately, I can’t always guarantee a same-day appointment.

Life happens. We all forget to schedule sometimes, and I completely understand that. I’ll always try to find the earliest appointment I can.

I guess the reason I’m sharing this is just to ask for a little grace. Behind this business is one person who truly cares about every client and every pet. I love what I do, and I work hard to provide the calm, individualized care that so many families choose my little shop for.

Thank you to everyone who supports my business, plans ahead when possible, and shows kindness and understanding. It truly means more than you know. ❤️
