All relationships leave you changed, but some change you beyond recognition.

I’ve learned so much from Vesper, and not about dog training. About humility, and patience. About determination. About forgiveness. Not to fear mistakes. That you can be anxious and still incredibly strong. That you can do bad things and remain a good person.

As I taught her to slow down and breathe, she taught me to do the same.

I’m a better person, and more myself, for knowing her. I’m so glad I have this time with her, to make sure she knows.
