We have several kennels that we need to work on to ensure we have space for our always growing shelter population.

🐾 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🐾

Want to make a difference for shelter animals while having some fun with your community? ❤️

The Corinne T. Smith Animal Center is looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming events, adoption events, fundraisers, and community outreach!

🙋‍♀️ We need volunteers to help with things like:
🐶 Handling and showing off adoptable dogs
🐱 Helping with adoptable cats
🎪 Setting up and working events
📸 Taking photos & helping promote our animals
❤️ Talking with potential adopters
🎟️ Fundraisers and special events
🧹 Setup, cleanup, and wherever an extra set of hands is needed!

You don't have to be an experienced volunteer — you just need a heart for animals and a willingness to help!

Every event gives our animals more exposure, more opportunities to meet potential families, and ultimately a better chance at finding HOME. 🏡🐾

❤️ WHAT A DAY, BROWN COUNTY!!! ❤️

Our community showed up in a BIG way today—not only for the animals currently in our shelter, but also for the unaltered pets living in homes throughout Brown County. We are overwhelmed with gratitude!

🎉 11 SHELTER ANIMALS FOUND HOMES TODAY! 🎉

ELEVEN lives changed. Eleven animals starting their next chapter with families of their own. ❤️🏡

And that wasn't all...

In just TWO DAYS, 200 FREE SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS were given out to our community! 🐾

These vouchers were made possible by an incredibly generous donor whose dream is to help reduce the number of animals entering our shelter. Preventing unwanted litters is one of the most important ways we can make lasting change—and seeing 200 vouchers go into the hands of local pet owners in just two days shows how much our community wants to be part of the solution.

It truly warmed our hearts to see and hear how grateful everyone was for this incredible gift. ❤️

We also know many people were disappointed when we ran out of vouchers. We completely understand, and we ask for a little patience and grace as we navigate this brand-new program.

The good news: MORE VOUCHERS ARE COMING! 🎉

Before the next phase begins, we need time to get these first 200 vouchers implemented and give our participating veterinary clinics time to get these animals scheduled. It may be a month or two before the next round becomes available, but we WILL post all the details as soon as we are ready to begin again.

And finally, we have to give a HUGE shout-out to our amazing shelter staff! ❤️

You worked incredibly hard today—navigating the crowds, answering countless questions, helping potential adopters, distributing vouchers, and keeping everything moving. Your teamwork shined today, and the outcomes speak for themselves.
