Zoosiana Zoosiana is where the good times ROAR! A 45-acre zoological park delivering wild family fun. Zoosiana has been a staple for family fun in Acadiana for 30 years!

Stretching across 42 acres, Zoosiana offers the spirit of adventure right here at home. Stroll along the bamboo-shaded pathways to see and learn about amazing animals like giraffes, lions, birds, reptiles, tigers, monkeys, and of course, alligators! Fun for the whole family, explore more from the Safari Express Train, go wild on the Jungle Lodge Playground, and find new treasures at the Gem Mine. Open 9 am to 5 pm daily, weather permitting. For more than 30 years, the communities throughout the Acadiana and southwest Louisiana areas have cherished and grown with the zoo. From humble beginnings as a small menagerie in the early 1990s to today’s accredited zoological park, Zoosiana – Zoo of Acadiana continues to proudly connect guests to the natural world through a strong commitment to education, conservation, and up-close-and-personal, pure excitement. Zoosiana employs about 25 people and provides daily care to all of its animals. The numerous education programs demonstrate the importance of the world’s animals and show that everyone can do a small part to help make the world a better place that will continue to include animals.

How to enter & vote for your favorite costume:
1. Take your photo at the Photo Op Spot (located at the Critter Café).
2. Email your best photo to [email protected] to submit. Submitted photos will be uploaded weekly to Zoosiana's page.
3. Vote by "liking" the photo of your favorite costume(s).
The photo with the most “likes” by the end of the day (11:59pm) October 31, 2026, will win a special prize! Submissions are limited to one per child or family. The winner will be announced on Zoosiana’s Facebook and Instagram and will be contacted by email no later than November 2, 2026. Zoosiana will not contact any winners on Facebook or by social media comment.

68°, sunny with a breeze? Yes please! 😎 The weather couldn’t be more perfect for Saturday at Boo at the Zoo. We’re hanging around until 5 PM and are back again tomorrow for another Sunday Fun day!

Just got back from an amazing trip to Zoosiana! 🦒

What an incredible team and an amazing group of animals! In just two days, we were able to take their hoofcare training to the next level and, most importantly, successfully obtain voluntary front-foot radiographs on their 21-year-old giraffe, Gabriel!

So proud of the progress this team is making and excited to see where they take it from here! 💛

We’re going WILD for week 3 of Boo at the Zoo!

This week, we’re taking a walk on the wild side as we celebrate Zoosiana’s incredible hoofed animals! From zebras and giraffes to all the other amazing hoofed friends that call Zoosiana home, there’s so much to discover!

🦒 Did you know? Giraffes have the same number of neck bones as humans—just seven! Their bones are simply much longer!

🦓 And did you know that every zebra has its own unique stripe pattern, just like our fingerprints?

This week’s keeper talks, activity station, and enrichment workshop are all focused on our hoofed friends! Get ready to learn what makes these incredible animals so special.

Enrichment Workshop ➡️ Safari Binoculars & Hoofstock Snacks (Saturday at 1pm)
Activity Station ➡️ Paper Bag Safari Puppets (Saturday/Sunday from 11am-4pm)
Keeper Talks ➡️ Goats & Sheep + Zebras (Saturday), Llama & Donkey (Sunday)
Training Sessions ➡️ Watch our keepers work with both our giraffe and pygmy hippos on special behaviors. Catch the hippo training session at 12:45pm and giraffe training at 2:45pm (Saturday/Sunday)

Join us for a fun enrichment workshop at 1pm on Saturday, October 10th to learn all about winged wonders!
