For nearly 20 years, Parkway Animal Hospital has served the Broussard, Youngsville, and Lafayette communities. 🐾🎉 TECH WEEK IS ALMOST OVER, Y’ALL! 🎉🐾

And before we let this week slip by, we HAVE to give a little love to our amazing veterinary technicians! ❤️🩺

These folks are the ones holding it all together behind the scenes (and sometimes holding the patients together, too 😂). From juggling appointments and lab work to comforting nervous pets, answering a million questions, and dealing with all the 💩 that comes with the job, our techs deserve ALL the appreciation in the world! 🐶🐱

Now, you may have noticed our Facebook has been a little quiet this week… 👀
Well, apparently, the person in charge of Facebook decided SHE needed a vacation during TECH WEEK. 😱 THE AUDACITY! THE NERVE! 😂 Somebody get that woman a performance review!

But don't worry, our techs have been hard at work keeping the clinic running while Facebook management has been off living her best life. 🤣

So, here's to our Parkway tech team! Thank you for your hard work, your big hearts, your patience, and everything you do for our patients and their people. Y’all are the real MVPs, and we couldn't do it without you! 💙🐾

Help us celebrate our incredible techs in the comments! Drop them some love, a 🐾, or your favorite tech appreciation emoji! ❤️

💕 From overnight box delivery to full-time kitten duties! 📦🐱

Remember our tiny overnight guests, Prime & FEDEX? These two little girls were left at our door around 3 weeks old, and we immediately got to work trying to give them the best chance possible.

Sadly, our sweet little FEDEX wasn’t strong enough to keep up, and we lost her. 💔 Her tiny body just couldn’t keep up with everything she was fighting. She was loved, cuddled, and cared for every step of the way. 🌈🐾

But her sister PRIME? Oh, she had OTHER PLANS. 😼💪

This little girl is now about 6-ish weeks old, eating soft food like she pays rent around here, and officially ready to start looking for her very own forever home! 🥹❤️

And there's just one tiny problem...

Clyde has decided she belongs here. 😂

Phat Boi Clyde has been absolutely LOVING his little sidekick, and the two of them have been having the best time playing together. We may or may not be quietly building a case for why Parkway needs a second clinic cat. 😏🐱🐱

Now we just have to convince Dr. Mike.
Wish us luck. 😂

We'll be posting videos of Prime and Clyde playing because honestly, they're way too cute not to share. ❤️

But as adorable as our little clinic-cat duo is, Prime still needs a forever home of her own!

📦 No shipping label required. Adoption pickup only. 😂🐾

If you think Prime might be your girl, send us a message or stop by and meet this little survivor! 💕.

Check the comments for a couple more videos!

🎉🐾 HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY, JAMIE! 🐾🎉

Today we’re celebrating our resident REPEAT FOSTER FAIL OFFENDER and full-time farm-building enthusiast, Jamie! 😂🎂

At this point, we’ve stopped asking Jamie, “Are you keeping this one?” because we already know the answer is probably yes. 🤣

Some people collect shoes. Some collect handbags.
Jamie collects ANIMALS. And apparently, she’s trying to turn her property into a full-blown Parkway-approved petting zoo. 😂

Between saving animals, building her farm, and somehow finding room for yet another foster, Jamie has officially reached 31 years of age and an unknown number of animals. 😜

We hope your birthday is filled with cake, laughs, cuddles, and absolutely NO ONE handing you a cardboard box containing a tiny creature while saying, “We just need you to keep it for a little while.” 😂

Because we all know how that ends. 🫠🐾

Happy 31st, Jamie! ❤️🎂

May your coffee be strong, your fences be sturdy, your fosters remain temporary (HAHA okay, we tried), and your farm continue to grow—just maybe not quite as fast as your foster-fail count! 😂🐾

We love you, Jamie! Happy Birthday! 🥳❤️

🚨 RABIES ISN’T SOMETHING TO PLAY AROUND WITH. 🚨

Louisiana has recently had a positive rabies case, and the CDC has issued a health advisory reminding everyone to take rabies exposure seriously.

So, let’s talk about why that little rabies vaccine sticker on your pet’s chart is SO important. 🐶🐱💉

🦠 Rabies is a deadly viral disease. Once clinical signs develop, rabies is almost always fatal. The virus is most commonly spread through the bite or saliva of an infected animal.

🦇 And you may not know an animal is infected. Rabies can occur in wildlife such as bats, raccoons, skunks and other mammals. A perfectly normal-looking animal can still pose a risk.

🐾 Your pet’s rabies vaccine protects more than just your pet.
Even indoor pets can accidentally encounter wildlife through an open door, a window, the backyard, or a curious critter that finds its way inside. Cats especially can be surprisingly good at finding trouble! 😂

💉 Keeping your pet’s rabies vaccine current is one of the simplest and most important things you can do. It protects your pet and helps create a barrier between rabies in wildlife and the people and animals in our community.

⚠️ If your pet is bitten or has contact with a wild or unknown animal, don't wait. Avoid handling the animal yourself, separate your pet safely if possible, and contact your veterinarian and local animal control/public health authorities for guidance.

And remember: rabies vaccination isn't just another vaccine to check off the list. It's a legal requirement AND a potentially life-saving one.

Louisiana wildlife is beautiful… but we don't need to make friends with it. 😉🦝🦇

💉 Keep those rabies vaccines current. Your pet's life—and potentially your family's—could depend on it.

📞 Questions about your pet's vaccine status? Give us a call!

📦🐾 SPECIAL DELIVERY UPDATE! 🐾📦

Last Friday morning, we arrived at the clinic to find a very unexpected delivery waiting for us at the door… TWO TINY KITTENS! 😭💕

Since these little girls were apparently overnighted to us, it only seemed fitting that they got delivery-themed names!

🤍🖤 Prime — our precious (and loud) little black-and-white Female

🖤 FEDEX, aka “Fetty” — our tiny black female, who came to us with one eye that would seal shut every day from a little conjunctivitis.

Both girls are on the tiniest little dose of antibiotics to clear up their funk, and we are happy to report that they are doing FANTASTIC! 🥰 They’re growing, eating, getting stronger, and generally being ridiculously adorable.

Soon these little delivery ladies will be graduating from their bottles and trying canned kitten food, because the level of greed these girls have for their food is kind they talk about in the bible! 🍽️ 🤭

They’ll still need a little more time with us, but in about 2–3 weeks, Prime and FedEX will be ready to find their forever homes. ❤️

For now, they’re happily accepting cuddles, kisses, and all the attention that comes with being the clinic’s newest tiny employees. 😂🐱

Apparently, our clinic now offers overnight kitten delivery. We did NOT approve this service. 📦🤣

Stay tuned for updates on Prime & FedEX! 🐾💕

🐾 A Gentle Reminder About Our Little Friends 🐾

This morning, our team arrived to find two tiny kittens left at our clinic door sometime during the night or early morning. 💔 These babies are still so young that they require bottle feeding and round-the-clock care.

Thankfully, they were found by our staff and are now safe with us. ❤️ One of our staff members is able to take the babies home and provide the bottle feedings and care they need. We are incredibly lucky to have someone who can step in for them — but that is not always the case.

We completely understand that sometimes people find themselves in situations where they don't know what to do with an animal in need. We know that the person who left these kittens may have simply been trying to get them somewhere safe — and we truly appreciate that they cared enough to help them. However, leaving animals at our doors is not a safe way to get them help.

Our clinic is not open 24 hours a day, and there is no guarantee that staff will arrive immediately in the morning. Animals left outside are exposed to heat, cold, rain, predators, traffic, and other dangers. For tiny kittens who need frequent bottle feedings, even a few hours without care can be life threatening.

If you find a kitten, puppy, or other animal in need after hours, please don't leave them outside our doors. Instead, contact an emergency veterinary hospital, local animal shelter/rescue, or another appropriate after-hours resource for guidance. If you're unsure what to do, call us during business hours. We would much rather help you figure out a safe plan than have an animal left unattended.

We aren't posting this to shame anyone. We simply want to make sure that the next animal in need gets the best chance possible. ❤️

As for these two little babies, they're safe, warm, fed, and being cared for. 🍼🐱🐱 Please send them some love! ❤️

🎉💖 HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY, JAIDE! 💖🎉

Some people work on their birthday… and then there’s Jaide, who apparently planned this whole thing perfectly. 😂💅

That’s right — 35 years young AND her birthday falls on her day off! 🎂✨
Honestly, we can’t even be mad about it. That’s some birthday luck right there! 🍀

Jaide has been part of the Parkway family for about 11 YEARS, and we couldn’t imagine our clinic without her! 🐾💗 She’s been here through the years, the craziness, the chaos, the furry patients, and everything in between — and we’re so lucky to have her!

So today, we hope Jaide is kicking back, being spoiled, eating something delicious, and enjoying every second of her birthday day off like the birthday queen she is! 👑🥂

Help us wish this beautiful lady a VERY HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎂💕

Happy Birthday, Jaide! We love you and hope 35 is your BEST year yet! 🐾💖

If you stop by the clinic tomorrow, be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday! 🥳 We hope your day is filled with lots of laughter, cake, and puppy kisses (and maybe a few kitty cuddles, too)! 🐶🐱🎈
