She absolutely adores being pet.

Gracie just isn't the type to march up and demand attention. She won't climb the curtains to make sure you notice her. She won't be the loudest voice in the room. Instead, she'll lean into your hand with the sweetest expression, quietly soaking up every bit of affection you offer, as if she's been hoping all along that someone would stop and choose her.

Senior cats have a special kind of magic. They teach us that love doesn't always arrive with grand gestures. Sometimes, it comes wrapped in a soft, fluffy coat, tucked away in the corner, waiting patiently for someone to see the treasure hiding in plain sight.

Everyone else packed their bags and headed home... but Teddy is still waiting. 💔🐾

Teddy Preti is a 7-year-old, 20-pound tricolor sweetheart who can't quite figure out why he was the one left behind.

And before anyone says it... yes, we know these pictures aren't doing him any favors. 😂 Somehow this adorable little man transforms into the least photogenic dog in the building the second a camera appears. We promise he's much cuter in person.

What the photos don't capture is just how sweet Teddy really is. He's happy, affectionate, and perfectly content simply being near his people. He'll sit beside you while you eat, keeping one hopeful eye on the floor in case gravity sends a snack his way. 🍽️👀

And once the excitement of the day is over? Teddy is a world-class cuddle bug. Give him a soft blanket and a cozy spot beside you, and he'll happily bundle up for the most precious little nap you've ever seen. 🥹🩷🛌

Teddy does have a mild cherry eye, but it doesn't bother him one bit and certainly doesn't slow him down. What he lacks in photogenic talent, he more than makes up for with personality, loyalty, and enough snuggles to keep your heart full.

His friends found their happy endings. Now it's Teddy's turn.

🐾☀️ Sunday mornings look a little different around here. ☀️🐾

While many people are still enjoying their coffee, some of our shelter pups are hitting the Suncoast Trail for one of the best parts of their week.

New sights. New smells. The rustle of leaves. The occasional squirrel sighting. The chance to sniff every blade of grass as if it holds the secrets of the universe.

These trail walks are so much more than exercise. They give our dogs a chance to decompress from shelter life, explore the world outside their kennels, and simply enjoy being dogs. For a little while, they get to trade concrete and routines for sunshine and adventure.

Thank you to the volunteers who give up part of their Sunday mornings to make these outings possible. Because of you, our dogs get fresh air, enrichment, and a reminder that there's a big, beautiful world waiting for them.

And who knows? Maybe one of these trail-loving pups is just waiting for the right person to join them on all of life's future adventures. ❤️🐕🌿

Small dog people, your moment has arrived. 🥹🐾

Not everyone is looking for a giant adventure buddy. Sometimes, the perfect companion is one who fits neatly beside you on the couch, follows you from room to room, and makes every ordinary moment a little sweeter.

💕 Lhatzu is a 6-year-old, 15-pound red and white sweetheart who has perfected the art of being your tiny shadow. Folding laundry? She's supervising. Doing dishes? She's helping. Walking to another room? She's already there. Her favorite place in the world is simply wherever her people happen to be.

🍽️ Teddy Preti is a 7-year-old, 20-pound tricolor gentleman with a heart of gold and hopeful eyes fixed firmly on your dinner plate. He has a mild cherry eye that doesn't bother him one bit, and he's more than happy to sit beside you while you eat... just in case gravity accidentally delivers him a little snack. A boy can dream, right?

🤎 Bobby Preti is Teddy's 8-year-old, 5-pound brother. Shy, sweet, and absolutely precious, Bobby has likely let Teddy "sample" both of their meals over the years... which may explain why one brother weighs 20 pounds and the other weighs 5. 😂 Once Bobby feels safe, you'll discover the gentle little soul hiding behind those timid eyes.

If your idea of happiness involves tiny paws, warm laps, and loyal companionship, come meet these adorable little loves. One of them just might be the missing piece of your home. 🐶❤️

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!

Meet Pony Boy. ❤️🐾

At just 10 months old and already tipping the scales at 92 pounds, Pony Boy is still very much a puppy trapped inside an extra-large body. We suspect he's a Dane mix, which means he came with a few bonus features: long legs, a giant heart, and an endless supply of drool. (Seriously. Consider yourself warned. 😂)

Pony Boy is the kind of dog who loves with his whole entire self. He greets life with enthusiasm, believes every adventure is the best adventure, and hasn't quite realized that "lap dog" has a size limit. His tail has the power of a small windstorm, his zoomies are impressive, and his affection knows absolutely no bounds.

He'll thrive with a family ready for all the fun that comes with a giant teenage puppy—continued training, plenty of playtime, and lots of patience as he finishes growing into those oversized paws.

If your home has been missing a goofy best friend, a professional cuddle enthusiast, and a walking slobber machine with a heart of gold, Pony Boy is ready to fill that role.
