Meet Baggins Arwen! She is out of Sharps Country and Baggins Bungo. Arwen is my only booted rabbits and she goes all the way back to my first red! She has been stubbornly refusing to give us another litter so I am holding her at gunpoint to give me some babies so I can continue this line in my barn 💚

I love seeing the dewlaps on these ladies 💚 we are finally getting a small break from this heat and I'm excited to start the transition into fall! I'm sure everyone in the barn is ready for it too

Yesterday we got the last of the culls butchered. These guys will be an amazing addition to the freezer and goes to show that every rabbit born in our barn has a purpose, either continuing to better the breed or to feed families. This is our contribution to stopping rabbits from entering the shelter/rescue pipeline. Rabbits are an amazing source of protein and should be utilized as such 💚 so thankful for getting to provide food for my friends and family this way

Box is in and the waiting game has started! Arwen goes back to my very first red so she has gotten more passes than I give most of my does when it comes to not taking. I will say this summer the weather has been incredibly weird and I have heard a lot of local breeders having an increase in missed pregnancies as well. Keep your fingers crossed and let me know how many you think she might have!

Meet Baggins Pansy! Pansy is out of AW Ranch Missouri and Green Gates Klondike. She has one leg and mainly just tags along to shows as a class filler now. She is a sweet mama and has a fantasticpersonality! Looking forward to letting her resume mama duties this fall 💚

We are welcoming back Baggins Arwen from her trip! She was supposed to go have a litter and come home but with heat and smoke and general summer ick that did not happen. We are still operating under the assumption she is bred for at least the next week or so from her last breeding date so maybe we will get lucky! 🤞we also picked up another friend who will be staying with us short term, more on that to follow!

It's delivery day! Dropping some buns off on a round trip to Moscow and back. Looking forward to seeing how these guys do rocking it out with some wonderful 4h families 💚

One Does Not Simply litter have all gotten their ink which means its time for the name reveals 💚

Outrun Consequences Again (Doe)
Negotiate with a Dragon (Doe)
Convince a Took to Wait (Buck)
Sneak Past the Giant Eye (Buck)
Explain it to the Ents (Buck)

Both does will be growing out longer with me. Two of the bucks will be going to 4H families this week, one of which as a donation to the 4H auction 😁 the third buck will be going to Freezer Camp as he currently has a pretty significant hay allergy and thats not what I want leaving my barn.

Meet Baggins Elenor! She is out of Green Gates Ruby and Green Gates Klondike. Elenor is our first homegrown GC rabbit 💚 she currently has 5 legs, 1 from a BOSB and 1 from a BOB. She is our laid back lady in the barn and we have retired her from the show string so she can relax for a bit before our next breeding season starts.
