Vermont Paws & Boots was established to assist our Military Veterans & First Responders who have sustained various disabilities through their service to our country and communites. Vermont Paws & Boots partners rescue dogs with individuals in need and trains them to work as a team. Creating a bond between these two allows for both to once again thrive. y Veteran with over 30 years of Police experience including 11 years as an award winning K-9 handler/instructor. Michelle has just recently retired from the State of Vermont after serving 22 years as a State Trooper. Due to her passion for working dogs and those who serve she saw a need for a program such as this to exist in Vermont. Vermont historically has the most deployed military personnel and fallen veterans per capita. National studies have also shown that Police officers and Firefighters can be equally affected by the trauma they are exposed to on a daily basis. Michelle recognized this situation and used her training and experience as an opportunity to fulfill her passion assisting Veterans, First responders, and canines.

**** Our “hunting” Raffle will be pulled today ****. With the busy Labor Day Festival event I forgot to post this on Friday. So today a member of Service Dog Class 12 will pull the ticket live (if I can get FB to cooperate) and we will call the WINNER to make arrangements for pick up! So check our site abound 11 am this morning (9/7/26). Thank you all for your support and patience during this raffle.

The trailer is packed, the truck is fueled up, and we are ready to head north to my alma mater Norwich University (NU/CCDT 92) to be part of the Northfield Labor Day Festival this year. We will have a tent on the village commons on Saturday and Sunday.
