Unfortunately no one has come forward to claim this kitty. We are now in the process of looking for a special, loving home for this handsome boy, nicknamed “Screech”.

We estimate him to be around 1 year of age, he is now neutered, and we are in the process of getting him up to date on vaccinations. He is positive for feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and a confirmatory test is consistent with a regressive form of the infection. While a cat has a regressive infection, it cannot actively infect other cats with the disease, and it is very unlikely to experience clinical signs from FeLV.

An ideal home for Screech would be a home either with no other cats or with another kitty who is also FeLV positive. He is a friendly boy, who is loving having people to interact with. He is full of chirps, purrs, and head boops and he so deserves a home and family of his own. If you or someone you know may be willing to open their heart and home to this boy, please let us know. Young, maybe around 1 yo male intact kitty found hanging around Hickory Hill in Bennington. Had been hanging out on their property/barn for over a week. He was brought in my a Good Samaritan due to concerns about a worn collar (rusty reddish orange, a bit frayed) that looked snug and a wound on his foot.

A large, all black, intact male cat was found across from the Market Wagon on Harwood Hill Rd in Bennington. He was not wearing a collar or microchipped.
