Brynn was rescued from a heartbreaking neglect case involving more than 25 beagles. The neglect caused catastrophic damage for Brynn. One of her kidneys was filling with fluid and the tissue was dying.

Fergus is moving forward and he underwent the extensive surgery needed to remove the painful mass on his face. Right now, he is recovering while receiving pain management, monitoring, and supportive care. But Fergus's journey is not over.

His recovery will require ongoing treatment and dedicated veterinary care in the weeks ahead. The support he needs now is just as important as the surgery that gave him this second chance.

Fergus was one dog among 17 cats rescued this weekend.💔 Years without proper care have left him with a large, painful mass on the side of his face that will require extensive surgery. Our shelter medicine team is doing everything they can do to keep him comfortable while they prepare his treatment plan.

Get excited, Marietta, because we're bringing dog adoptions to you 🎉

Join us at our Marietta location on select Saturdays for special dog adoption events featuring adoptable puppies and adult dogs of all sizes from local rescue partners. This Saturday, we're partnering with Posey Shelter Pet Promoters, Inc. (and they're bringing the cuties in this post).

While our Marietta location is typically home to cats, these events offer even more opportunities to meet your new best friend and support lifesaving rescue efforts across our community. We hope to see you there!

Over Memorial Day weekend, while many people were observing the holiday with family and friends, our Operation Humane team was working to bring 17 cats and 1 dog to safety from a heartbreaking situation.

Many of these animals spent years living in filth, never knowing the feeling of a clean bed or when their next meal would come. Today, they are safe in our care, but they still have a long road ahead of them.

Hector came to us with a severe leg fracture that required advanced medical care. After evaluations with our Shelter Medicine Team, it was determined that amputation would give him the best chance at a happy, pain free life.

Zeus came to us severely underweight and battling a serious parasite infestation after living in overcrowded conditions. Thanks to the care of our Shelter Medicine Team and a loving foster home, he went from 82 pounds to a healthy 110 pounds and now he’s thriving with the family he deserves. 🐾❤️
