This page is dedicated to the pets in need of the Athens area and our surrounding communities. We work closely with Animal Control Shelters in our area to rescue animals and save lives. We are a private non-profit and therefore receive no government or national funding. We rely solely on private donations from individuals, businesses, and groups. We also have a Spay & Neuter Clinic where we offer

low-cost surgeries to the public and rescue groups. This affordable service helps people save more lives by spaying and neutering their pets. Our posts will include photos of adoptable animals, adoption photos, events, fundraisers, and news regarding our organization. Please feel free to leave positive comments and feedback. Meet Lorelei, our one-year-old tuxedo sweetheart with the most adorable little mustache you’ve ever seen. Seriously, just look at it. Between her bright golden eyes and her tiny milk mustache, Lorelei always looks like she’s about to share some very important feline wisdom with the world.

Need a little help feeding your pets this month? Swing by our shelter this Saturday between 9AM–1PM to pick up free pet food, toys, or litter from our Full Bellies Pet Pantry! Just drive around to the back of our facility and look for the garage!

Meet our not-so-spicy culinary vegetable, Pepper! This 7-year-old boxer mix is such a sweetheart and truly has some of the best manners around. She’s gentle, loving, and takes treats ever so politely from your hand like the classy lady she is.

Pepper already knows commands like sit and down and finds the most comfort curled up beside her favorite humans. She has a very positive history with children and would make such a wonderful companion for a calm and loving family. While she adores people, Pepper would prefer to have all the love to herself in her future home, so she’s looking for a pet-free household where she can feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Meet Missy, one of our newest canine friends! This sweet girl is the definition of a free spirit, living life to the fullest without a care in the world. With her goofy personality and smart little brain, Missy is just as entertaining as she is lovable.

Missy already knows commands like sit, speak, and lay down, and she’s incredibly treat motivated and eager to please. While she may get a little excited when first meeting new people, she settles in wonderfully and loves both walks and cuddle time. She absolutely adores being outside and would make the perfect hiking buddy or park companion for someone looking for an adventurous best friend.

Meet Sheila, our sweet 3.5-year-old brindle beauty who is gentle as can be. She may seem a little shy when you first meet her, but don’t let that fool you. Once she warms up, she’s excited to make new friends and show off her soft, loving personality. Sheila is currently learning the sit command and is very treat motivated, which makes training sessions both fun and rewarding. With a little patience and a handful of snacks, this girl is eager to please and ready to shine. 🦴

Meet one of our newer canine friends, Gordy! This handsome 8-month-old pup is already a fan favorite and a Doggy Day Out rockstar. He loves exploring the outdoors and soaking up everything the world has to offer. With his playful puppy energy, Gordy is always ready to run, play, and have a good time.

Gordy also does well with dogs and kids, though we always recommend slow introductions when bringing a new pet home. He’s a sweet, adventurous boy who is ready to find a family to share all of life’s moments with.

Meet one of our newest sweet young gentlemen, Sasha! This handsome one-year-old lynx point may come across as a little reserved when you first meet him, but beneath that shy exterior is one of the gentlest, most affectionate cats you’ll ever meet. Sasha loves curling up in his cozy cubbies and watching the world go by, but if you stop and offer him a few pets, he’ll absolutely melt into your hands. Physical affection is his love language, and once he realizes you’re there to be his friend, he soaks up every bit of attention he can get.
