This page is dedicated to the pets in need of the Athens area and our surrounding communities. We work closely with Animal Control Shelters in our area to rescue animals and save lives. We are a private non-profit and therefore receive no government or national funding. We rely solely on private donations from individuals, businesses, and groups. We also have a Spay & Neuter Clinic where we offer

low-cost surgeries to the public and rescue groups. This affordable service helps people save more lives by spaying and neutering their pets. Our posts will include photos of adoptable animals, adoption photos, events, fundraisers, and news regarding our organization. Please feel free to leave positive comments and feedback. 💜 Majik 💜

Meet Majik, our one-year-old tortie girlie who has officially appointed herself mayor of the cat quad. This quirky little lady has absolutely blossomed since moving into the space and now spends her days playing, exploring, and keeping a very close eye on everything her feline neighbors are doing. Someone has to know the neighborhood business.

Majik is also a serious climber, so we hope her future family is prepared to occasionally look up and find a tortie staring down at them from somewhere she absolutely was not invited to be. Cat trees are great, but we have a feeling this girl is destined to rule over the kitchen cabinets.

Introducing our newest crew of mega mixed-breed babies, and this might be the most diverse-looking litter we’ve had in a while! Pictured in order, we have:

Monkey (M), Viper (F), Crane (M), Master Shifu (M), Tigress (F), Poe (M), and Tai Lung (M)

These tiny warriors came to us with fleas and in need of some serious TLC, but they’re already doing so much better! They still need another week or two to grow a little bigger and stronger before they’re ready to head home. For now, their training mostly consists of eating, sleeping, wrestling with their siblings, and mastering the ancient art of being ridiculously cute.

Need a little help feeding your pets this month? Swing by our shelter this Saturday between 9AM–1PM to pick up free pet food, toys, or litter from our Full Bellies Pet Pantry! Just drive around to the back of our facility and look for the garage!

🍊 Taz & Piccolo 🍊

Introducing nearly 40 combined pounds of orange cat and approximately three thoughts between them. Taz (light orange) and Piccolo (darker orange) are our newest bonded boys: two 20-pound bowling balls whose preferred activity is attempting to occupy the same human lap at the same time. Personal space is simply not something they believe in.

Piccolo is the attention seeker of the pair. He’ll purr his way as close to you as physically possible, hand out little kisses and love nibbles, and proudly roll over to display the belly responsible for much of his impressive circumference. Taz takes a more dignified approach, quietly cooing until you realize you’ve neglected your petting responsibilities. He’s also the bigger toy enthusiast of the two. And don’t worry too much about what either of them is thinking... They live entirely in the present and have little interest in events that occurred five minutes ago.

These boys could benefit from shedding a few of those bowling-ball pounds, and thankfully, they genuinely love to play! Wands, springs, toys to chase... You name it. An enriching home that keeps them moving while providing enough lap space for both of them would be their dream. And because Taz and Piccolo are bonded, these two come as a package deal. You simply cannot separate the bowling set.

Meet Sylvia, our newest doodle lady with plenty of fluff, energy, and affection to go around! At one year old, Sylvia still has lots of puppy energy left in her and absolutely loves getting the chance to run and play. Once she's gotten some of those zoomies out, though, she's more than happy to settle in for some cuddles. Sylvia firmly believes that lap dog is a state of mind, not a size requirement. If there's a lap available, she'll do her best to fit herself into it. She's still a new arrival, so we're continuing to uncover all her preferences, and personality traits.

🩵 Wishlist Wednesday 🩵

This week, our Adoption Team is down to three very important essentials for our shelter residents: Churus and crumbling litter for our feline friends, plus pig ears for our canines!

Churus are always a favorite for winning over shy kitties and making snack time a little more exciting, while crumbling litter keeps our cat areas stocked and comfortable. For the dogs, pig ears are a great long-lasting treat that gives them something fun to chew on and helps keep busy pups occupied.

This sneaky, mischievous girl loves to stalk, swat, pounce, and hunt down basically anything that dares make a sound. Meet Cleo, Emma, and Rikka, our newest trio of Dobermann-mix girls! These three little ladies are equal parts cuddly and adorable, and those floppy hound ears? We're not sure how anyone is supposed to resist them. Like any good puppy trio, these girls are still busy discovering the world around them. Their current priorities include snuggling with anyone who will have them, playing until they've worn themselves out, and perfecting the art of the puppy pile. They're sweet, curious, and ready to grow up alongside families of their very own.
