The process of haltering Aurelia.

You have to pay attention to the body language.
I'm listening to hers, she is listening to mine. We have a respect for one another.

With a horse like her you have to make it very clear what you're about to do. Even though we've done this everyday for weeks, she still wants to know what your intentions are with that thing in your hand. So I do the same thing everyday to reassure her.

Aurelia update! 🌞🌼🌻

She is drop dead gorgeous!

I know I haven't posted much about this girl. She was a bit tougher to gentle than Juniper, but we also were dealing with abscess's in her feet for a while.
Aurelia was a very reactive girl and didn't mind throwing a kick or bite in your direction to tell you to go away. She will still try to nip at you once in a while if you are "pestering" her too much. Like when I'm tapping on her shoulder to move her over. 🤪 She is actually really sweet and loves to be scratched, but she is guarded. You have to earn every ounce of trust, every single day! She notices everything! Slow and steady is a must for her. I just know when her guard comes down she will be fantastic!
She will probably stay with me after the competition so I can see her training all the way through.

1 month with Juniper!

She is picking up her front feet, (still a bit nervous of her back feet),being saddled with no issues, lunging both directions, and carrying a tarp around. She was introduced to Mr Bear, who will be her first rider! 🐻 😆
