Share Rescue

Share Rescue SHARE Rescue is a non profit Siberian Husky Rescue. We rescue, foster and adopt out Siberian Huskies all over the UK, utilising a network of volunteers.

S.H.A.R.E – Siberian Husky Aid Rescue Education is a U.K wide rescue, specialising in re-homing Siberian Huskies and Siberian Husky Cross Breeds. We began our journey in August 2011 and since then have been growing every day to save this breed from ill fates that befall them through no fault of their own. All the staff dedicate their time for free to helping these beautiful, specialist dogs and ma

king sure they find loving forever homes by performing extensive home-checks, long distance transport (if needed) and a life-time of support. We rely on the support of our volunteers to help us with these tasks of transporting, fostering, fundraising and home-checking throughout the U.K. S.H.A.R.E was set up by Siberian Husky owners who wanted to make a difference in the large number of Huskies that are given up to kennels, abandoned or put up for re-homing on a daily basis: Together they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the rescue. All dogs that come into our rescue are placed into the most suitable of home-checked foster homes. By doing this we provide a safe, loving environment for the dogs, whilst there we carry out thorough assessments on their behaviour and offer rehabilitation and training where needed. Following this assessment they are then ready for adoption.

We are so very sad to say this beautiful boy Mr Moley has passed over to Rainbow Bridge 💔
He was adopted by Matt and family and spent the past 4 years being so loved and cared for. He was so lucky to be fostered by Cath who found the best forever home for him ❤️

Run free over rainbow bridge beautiful boy 🌈
Thank you for the wonderful life you gave him Matt & family

Emma and her special diet 😋🐔🐟🐮🥗

So, Emma is one of our lifers! If you've been with us a long time, you may remember her arriving with us after she had been hit by a car at just 7 months old 😩

She's a special girl with a few special needs behaviourally and with her health so she's here to stay bless her

One of her biggest struggles has been her digestion! She's always been a nightmare to keep weight on, had a very loud growly/squelchy belly, loose 💩, dry skin etc
Food after food, vet investigations, meds, supplements...nothing properly worked!

So, after lots of research and talking with experts, we decided to try a different route and cook her food ourselves!

She gets:
Chicken, fish, liver and beef for her protein
A huge range of fruit and veg for vitamins, minerals and fibre
Brown rice and oats for minerals and extra calories
Some additions to make sure it is nutritionally complete and balanced
Flax seed, french green clay and kefir to help her belly settle and populate with good bacteria
At a cost of around £100-£120 ish per month depending on food prices 🥴

And now she's been on it for a good while, she can tolerate a kibble breakfast 🥳
This helps make sure she's getting everything she needs nutritionally
This costs about £26

She is also on a joint supplement as she is a tripod and is turning 8 this year so her joints are happy for a bit of help!
This is around £2.50 a month (if you need a cheap supplement that seems to work brilliantly, tescos own £3.80 for 90 tablets is fab!)

All in all, £130-£150 a month then a bit more when we replace her supplements
This is a lot for one dog :(

But..
She is now a fantastic weight, her belly is quiet, she is no longer bloated, her coat is healthy, her skin isn't dry, and she doesn't wince when you touch her belly

She's back to full energy, playing with the younger dogs, happy, pain free and healthy...there's simply no way we can go back

We would LOVE to have a group of monthly donators that help us specifically for our Emma's food! ❤️❤️

Whatever you can afford, £1, £5, whatever, each month to help our girl stay as happy and healthy as she is now and prevent the vet bills that come with her being on a 'normal' diet

If you'd like to join Emma's club, you can set up a monthly payment via PayPal, Enthuse, or through the bank (pm us for details) or, you can just try and remember monthly yourself 😂
We will also try and post a monthly reminder!

PayPal: [email protected] (please make sure to use the friends and family option)

They will try and ask you to donate to them too! Underneath the slider, just tap other amount and set it to £0 - they charged us just under £400 in September! We will be cancelling asap to avoid this again as we don't get enough donations through it to justify the price

Where to start! This is a general update of where we are and what we're doing...and a plea for help 😩

Hi everyone ☺️

Been a bit quite here lately, largely on purpose! Our sister rescue, Homeward Bound in Turkey, is under a huge amount of strain right now, lives are at risk and laws are forever changing for the worse 😔
So, they're moving to France! But that means lots of dogs moving to fosters, lots of work to get the new sanctuary in France ready, the dogs in Turkey still need caring for whilst they're there...the list is endless!

So we are keeping SHARE rather quiet whilst we get everything settled as spreading ourselves too thin and taking on too much will only hurt the dogs instead of helping them!

For RBU and the dogs we feel we can help without strain...SHARE has been running for so long, we have gotten to a lovely point where we don't usually need to post dogs as we've been able to work on the basis of sending them straight to what we hope is a forever home that has come to us wanting a new addition, they stay for a trial then, usually, they get adopted ❤️

This is absolutely fantastic for the dogs! The less moving around for them, the better so from the relinquishing home (or pound) straight to a forever home is ideal

It's great for us from a time perspective as at the end of a day trying to get everything done, we're ready to collapse and don't have the time or energy to make posts

What it is less ideal for...is funds 🙈
People don't see the dogs so they don't see the work that needs funding!

Recently, we've had monthly kennel bills, over £800 in vet bills and one of our forever residents has been on special food for a long time now that has been brilliant for her, but is expensive at roughly £100 a month :(

Unfortunately, the pot is now dry 😩
So, I need to magic up some minutes to get on here, tell you all what's going on and ask for the help when we need it!

The plan at the moment, once Homeward Bound is settled, is for SHARE to be fully up and running again but we won't be able to do that if the support isn't there 💔

So, do you still want us?
We hope so 🙏

For that to happen, we do need help!
We need:
- vet bills covered (for Ice, pictured)
- monthly sponsors for our special girls food (some of which is in picture 3!)
- monthly kennel sponsors
- adoptive and foster homes (if Huskies aren't for you, please still message us 🙏 Homeward Bound is an all-breed rescue)

If the support isn't there, we will clear the bills we currently have, get the dogs in foster adopted, then close our doors
This is the last thing we want :'(

If you can help our PayPal is [email protected]

Or you can donate via Enthuse here for debit card https://sharerescue.enthuse.com/ #!/

We have over 7000 followers, if even 10% donated £1 a month, we would be able to keep going ❤️

⏰ URGENT PLEA ⏰
Our friends at 8 Below have contacted us and other husky rescues today about an urgent situation involving multiple dogs that must be moved by the end of the month but preferably sooner

8 Below were able to take two into their care today but there are 10 more needing help as soon as possible

There are boys and girls and as far as we know they are all dog friendly with brilliant temperaments and just need patient, understanding homes who can give them some much needed TLC
They desperately need to leave their current situation but we can’t do this without your help 💔

Please look at their photos…look in their eyes 😢…
If you have any space in your home and any room in your heart to help one or two of these gorgeous dogs, please reach out to us

If you are already homechecked, just message the page or one of the team
If you are not homechecked, please fill in this form and we will be in touch https://www.sharerescue.org/homecheck-application-form

If you would rather go through 8 Below, please contact them and other husky rescues are aware so may have their own posts soon and we can all work together to get this gorgeous lot safe and sound with a new future 🥰🥰

Trooper

This gorgeous boy was found as a stray and his time was almost up at the pound. He was just a baby and we couldn’t leave him so our amazing staff Sammie and Allison went to pick him up 🥰 Where he got the care he needed, he was emaciated with sore, painful skin 😔 he then went to our wonderful foster Cathy and her family took him in and helped him heal.
They even found the most amazing home for him.

✨ Look at him now ✨
In the perfect home, adopted, so loved, and living his best life 🥰

This is what rescue is all about ❤️
This is what your kind donations make possible, saving precious lives 😇

If you would like to foster or adopt a Husky,
Please fill out a home check application and a member of staff will be in touch.

As our rescue grows older, so do the dogs we have been lucky enough to see adopted into loving homes.

Sadly, we have some heartbreaking news to share. A number of our much loved rescue dogs have recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

🌈 Ruby, adopted by Lisa
🌈 Sky, adopted by Amy
🌈 Eva Diva, adopted by Lee
🌈 Kai, adopted by Cam
🌈 Storm, adopted by Rose

We always try to keep in contact with every dog we rehome, and they remain part of our extended rescue family long after adoption.

Each of these beautiful souls lived an amazing life, surrounded by love, comfort, and kindness exactly what they deserved. We are truly grateful to every one of you who opened your hearts and homes to these dogs when they needed it most.

They will always be part of our rescue family and never forgotten. 💔

KAI POST-VET UPDATE
We popped him to the vets and whilst still concerned, it didn't feel too pessimistic! The yellowing is worrisome but we're doing what we can and will be adding a liver supplement in to try and help him out.

We now have some anti-sickness and appetite stimulant tablets with instructions to use them sparingly so we again don't pressurise his liver and to start with just the appetite stimulant and see how we do....Well, he has had his usual daily amount of kibble, a few bites of pumpkin and a mixture of the wet foods we've been begging him to eat the past couple of days and he's still looking for more! He's also drinking pretty well

Please keep everything crossed for this boy
