We wanted to take a moment to address the recent speculation circulating regarding laboratory testing of Stobart Raw products.
As an independent, family-run business, Pets Plus has always been built on trust, honesty and a genuine love for the animals we serve. We know that behind every purchase is a much-loved pet who depends on their owner to make the best possible choices for them. We never take that responsibility lightly.
We have spoken with Stobart directly and have been in contact with other retailers to better understand the concerns being raised.
To clarify, the current discussion relates to the reported composition of certain products, specifically claims of high levels of chicken being detected in products not labelled as containing chicken. This is not a statement that the products are unsafe, and we do not want to cause unnecessary alarm. However, knowing that the food we sell accurately reflects its labelling is incredibly important to us.
The information currently circulating has not been independently confirmed, and the original source of the claims has not been identified. Rather than rely on speculation, we believe the right thing to do is establish the facts for ourselves.
We are therefore arranging our own independent laboratory testing for our peace of mind and, most importantly, for the reassurance of our customers.
The trust you place in us means everything, and we believe you deserve honesty, transparency and answers rather than assumptions.
For the time being, Stobart Raw will remain available at Pets Plus while we await the results of our own testing. We will share an update with our customers as soon as we receive the results and have had the opportunity to review them. We suspect this to take around 1 week.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns or would simply feel more comfortable discussing alternative options for your dog, please come and speak to us. We will always be happy to listen, talk things through and help you find a suitable alternative where possible.
We want to be honest with you: the possibility of there being an issue with the composition or labelling of any product we stock is genuinely concerning to us. We care deeply about the dogs who come through our doors, and many of our customers have been part of the Pets Plus family for years. Those relationships mean far more to us than simply selling a product.
We want to do right by our customers and their dogs. That means taking concerns seriously, asking questions, seeking reliable answers and being transparent with you throughout this process.
