Got home on Tuesday! Fingers crossed I stay home
Got to go to doctors for blood test 10th and then back to hospital 18th November for more bloods and scan to double check everything
Recovery is going to be so slow and won't be able to drive for another 6 weeks at least.
I have mental health getting put in place to support me that way as this has been a wild ride from Alexandra being poorly to me nearly dying and now Feeling so robbed of the newborn stage with only being on a car ride with Alexandra 3 times and pushing her pram 1 time so far and not being around for Warren or Willow to not being able to provide any of my kids basic care has been super hard.
Slowly starting to get my appetite back after not eating for 5 days to only having soft foods little and often to now finally starting to enjoy eating without being too scared something bad will happen. I've not tried diluting juice or fizzy juice yet sticking to water, milk or tea for the time being
In 13 days I've lost 1st 10lb I'm only 3lb away from my weight before having Alexandra and thank goodness I don't have swollen ankles and feet anymore tummy is also losing the swollenness but still has a wee bit to go.
Onwards and upwards hopefully can get off the strong painkillers in next few weeks
Cuddles from the gorgeous girl🥰

Still in hospital and nobody knows when I'll get home My cannulas keep failing so they had to make decision to put me onto antibiotics which they wanted at least one of the antibiotics I'm on to be put through IV but my vains are agony just putting a water flush in. I'm on Gynae but micro biology are dealing with my care the head of department is off till Monday so everything will get sorted then as head nurse is worried how much antibiotics they are giving me as it's another person in micro trying to help at moment but the head of department is ment to be the best in the country who's dealing with me usually and she's dealt with my care since the beginning

Surgeon said Edinburgh royal has only had one other case of dermoid cyst rupturing the whole time the hospital has been open (296 years ago) as only 1-2% chance of it ever happening it is so rare 🤯🤯
other woman it happened to wasn't postparantum so I'm basically second woman to happen to but they have never seen in after having a baby so nobody knows what is going to happen next I've been warned if pain starts when I'm back home I need to come back in and be seen and they will be monitored me in the future also as will take time for my body to absorb the content left inside and my insides have serious scar tissue damage from all the damage cause by the content of the cyst also still a risk of my bowel sticking together until content of cyst is absorbed really hoping it won't do another pocket of content build up as the draining bag wasn't fun being put in.

Long road to recovery but so hoping I don't have another set back and it just keeps getting better🤞
It's been a real eye opener on how short life can be as if I'd ignored the pain and went back to bed like I wanted too on the 14th of October luckily hubby didn't let me the surgeon said my body would have went into shock and shut down and I wouldn't have woken in the morning. It's all just hit me how seriously ill I was/still am these last few days and how you really need to live the life you want too. How amazing the body is, how advanced medicine is and do things that make you happy as you really don't know how long you'll have in this strange amazing world.

Joked leaving hospital to Hubby will be back in 3 days....shouldn't have joked back in after 3 days at home back in high dependency with fluid build up from left over liquid from cyst liquid they couldn't get out.
Everything is irritated and inflamed again.
Had to get a drainage bag put into the pocket of fluid to drain it hoping to get it removed tomorrow.
On 3 different iv antibiotics one lasting 3hrs.
Couldn't make it up really just want to start living with our gorgeous Warren, Willow & Alexandra who is now a month and day old.

Visits for cuddles just have to do just now 🩷

Got home yesterday at 5:30pm The first day has been so hard on and off migraine, swollen feet, pain, exhaustion and overwhelmed to the max. Being home is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. It's amazing to be with Warren & Willow again but so hard not being able to do simple care for the kids and not letting willow on me for a big cuddle

Can't thank my handsome hubby and our little village for all the help given/still giving to me/us forever grateful 💗

I will be taking maternity leave to recover mentally, physically and heal from not only a rough birth but major surgery. Thank you for everyone's kind comments and I hope to see everyone in the future, I'll keep everyone up to date when I'll be returning to work but this won't be till middle of 2026 🐾

Yesterday I got all my tubes out minus a cannula feeling more human. Got moved from high dependency to postparantum ward 🎊
Today has been a hard day with pain being very sore even just going for a shower or to the toilet feels like a marathon. Alexandra has been coming to visit me which has been nice but painful to hold her today.
Hoping tomorrow won't be in as much pain as today fingers crossed 🤞

What a ride, phoned ambulance Tuesday morning in agony scan later and emergency surgery on twisted tube and burst dermoid cyst
Doctors shocked that kind of cyst burst only 1-2% chance of that kind to burst he's only seen it in one other woman not postparantum he's seen in his whole career to have this type of cyst to burst had to clean fluid out of belly on antibiotics to clear infections and big painkillers
Lost the right overy and tube as was to badly damaged so only have left one left but glad as talked about full hysterectomy
Not allowed to eat or drink as my stomach and bowel walls are so irritated from the fluid out of cyst. Talks about possibly getting things moving today but not certain as fluid bag still not running clear
In hospital till at least monday temp is spiked, heart rate and breathing is high and blood pressure finally stable from being low. Had another chest scan as through night doctor heard cracking in left lung awaiting results.

Rubbish being away from the kids again not even home a week from getting Alexandra out of nenatual care unit for me to be back in hospital
Can't wait to start properly as a family of 5

Welcome to the world Alexandra 😍
She decided to make a fast and early appearance on Sunday 28th September 2025 at 05:08am
Weighing 8lb 4oz
Waters broke and she didn't want to come until contractions started naturally 36hrs later and from contractions starting to her entering the world she was here in a very fast 3 hours.

She had a rough start to life with low temperature and rapid breathing was admitted to neonatal care then discharged only to be readmitted 6 hours later as they discovered she contracted a bacterial infection in her blood (Staph A)
She was rushed to the neonatal unit where we were separated for 22 hours until my temperature had stabilised then we were reunited, one of the hardest times of my life
She was cannulated and put onto antibiotics she stayed in neonatal unit until she was aged 11 days old her cannulas kept failing (went through six not including the countless failed attempts) it was decided she would finish her antibiotics by oral use she was discharged home today 9th October where she will finish up her course of medication by Tuesday 14th October at home

She is one strong wee cookie and Warren & Willow are absolutely obsessed with her and we can't wait to finally start life as a family of 5 & the crazy fur animals 🩷
