Cat And Dogs I currently spend my time working between Calderdale in West Yorkshire and Cerdigion and Carmarthenshire in West Wales. I offer 121 dog training for pet dogs.

I also offer a bespoke dog sitting service Hi I’m Cat, professional dog trainer.



I live here, in this incredible valley, where I have been very happy to work in our community with dogs and their owners for over 10 years. I established Cat and Dogs Professional Dog Training in Hebden Bridge in 2017 and offer a wide range of classes as well as 1-2-1 training. We have our own specialist training centre in Salem Mill, where we provide training courses to suit puppies and dogs of all ages and abilities. In addition to the group courses, we offer customised 1-2-1 training sessions, at a time that suits you.



We are very pleased to announce that our club now has Kennel Club Listed Status, offering you the chance to take part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. In these classes, you and your dog can work towards achieving the nationally-recognised Kennel Club Good Citizen bronze, silver and gold level awards. This is offered as part of our Progression course. The Cat and Dogs team are also super excited to be welcoming expert trainer, Victoria Hoole, from Sniff and Trail UK. Attendees will have the option of developing their skills to attend trials which are available up and down the UK. It's going to be great fun! Come along if you fancy trying something new! I am an experienced dog professional who has cared for and worked with dogs and their humans for the past 15 years. In 2012 after taking redundancy from a big corporation, I started dog walking and dog sitting. 10 years ago I decided to retrain as a dog trainer as I wanted to help people have a better understanding of the dogs in their care. Since then I’ve been running a successful dog training business for pet dog owners.

I am a member of the professional dog training bodies APDT UK (www.apdt.co.uk) and the IMDT (www.imdt.co.uk) both training bodies that adhere to positive reinforcement training. As a member I abide by their code of ethics. I can support you in dog training services if you wish.

My daily rate is £45 per 24 hours and I am taking bookings now for the rest of 2026. £45 covers walks and exercise, feeding, general care and lots of love.

Here's Beau the gorgeous tennage staffordshire bull terrier learning to walk beside a buggy. It’s always good training to prepare a pet dog for baby’s arrival by introducing baby items before baby arrives! This skill can also be easily transferred to walking beside a wheelchair. Go Beau!

Then we have Pepper practicing his go to bed exercise. A few weeks ago Pepper didn’t understand go to a mat or bed and lie down. Through positive and fun training sessions he’s now enjoying being sent to a mat and staying there until he’s released. His guardians report back that they are using Pepper’s new skill when visitors come to the house. So instead of jumping at visitors he’s jumping onto his bed!

You can see Kes showing off his beautiful gate manners - as you can see he is super keen to reconnect with his guardian as soon as he’s through the gate. Of course it’s a joy not to be pulled through the door by your dog but it’s also a delight when your dog reconnects like this when going through any door or gateway.

I have loved working with these young adolescent dogs in our 6 week socialisation and foundation course. It's so rewarding when guardians commit to putting the training time in with their dogs and we see huge progress.

The teenage months can be challenging for dogs and owners. Adolescent dogs' developmental stages can affect how they learn and perceive the world, depending on where they are in their adolescent phase.

Group training can work well for adolescent dogs as they are exposed to other dogs in a safe, positive, and reinforcing learning environment. So it can help build their confidence and focus around other dogs. I work with the dog in front of me and aim to tailor training exercises to each dog.

I'm very proud of these guardians and their dogs - they have worked well and the made great progress with their young dogs! Well done, guys, on achieving your APDT Good Companion Foundation Award.

We are loving running the puppy classes at the Fielden Hall in Todmorden on Monday evenings. All puppy guardians and pups are doing so well in this group.

It's a 6 week course and the group are working through the APDT Good Companion Puppy Award (https://www.apdt.co.uk/good-companion-awards) scheme. As a registered APDT trainer I am qualified to run this award scheme for my clients. We cover foundation skills, socialisation and manners that starts pup off on the best paw.

I really do have the best job and such lovely cllients. 🐾🐾❤️🐾🐾

We had a super day yesterday at Stoneleigh Rally Competition. It was great meeting up with friends and making some new ones!

Connie’s motto for the day was definitely ‘we’re here to have fun’ and she smashed her rounds.

We’ve qualified out of level 2 with an RL2 Ex title and we secured 6th place in level 3 with an excellent score of 200. So proud of this girl it was a long, social and busy day that demanded focus, concentration and patience and she gave it her all.

Thanks again to Louise Donnor-Broom and family for the very early morning pick up in Leeds! Great to hang out with you lovely lot!
