🎉 Happy 2nd Birthday to The Hadleigh Vets! 🎉

Two years ago, we opened our practice doors to build a warm, compassionate practice dedicated to the pet owners of Hadleigh. Looking around at our team sharing pizza and cake this weekend to celebrate, we could not be prouder of how far we have come.

We wanted to take a moment to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to our incredible team. You are the heart and soul of this practice. Thank you for your endless hard work, kindness, and devotion to our patients every single day. We could not do this without you.

And to our wonderful clients and patients: Thank you to the Hadleigh community for welcoming us and supporting us as we have grown. Above all, thank you for trusting us with the care of your beloved family members, it means the world to us.

Here’s to many more years of caring for your pets and being a part of this fantastic community! 🥂

With love and gratitude,
Jess and Jo 🐾

Meet beautiful Dolly. She recently visited Vet Noor after her family noticed a change in her drinking habits.

In medical terminology, an increase in drinking is known as 'polydipsia'. While it might seem like a small shift, noticeable changes in thirst can sometimes be an early indicator of underlying health conditions, such as hormone imbalances (like Cushing's disease or thyroid concerns), internal organ changes (such as issues affecting the kidneys or liver) or even Diabetes.

To get to the bottom of Dolly’s symptoms, Vet Noor and Nurse Rebecca performed a series of blood tests and an ultrasound scan. This gives us the best chance of finding out any underlying cause and treating it early. Dolly was an absolute star throughout her day with us, winning over the whole team with her sweet nature whilst she had her diagnostics completed!

🌟 MEET OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBER - JESS🌟

We are delighted to welcome our new Registered Veterinary Nurse to our growing practice this summer - and yes, she makes Jess number three on the team!

Jess joins our busy nursing team, bringing a wealth of enthusiasm and a fantastic skill set. She particularly enjoys assisting in dental procedures, providing attentive inpatient care, and offering expert advice to owners caring for their senior cats and dogs.

Outside of the practice, Jess loves nothing more than relaxing at home hanging out with her cat, or expressing her creative side through painting.

Please join us in giving Jess a warm welcome to The Hadleigh Vets family!

Handsome Reggie came to see our nurse Saskia for a weight check last week 🐾

Puppies grow so quickly in the first six months of their life! Tracking their growth during this time helps our team gain an important insight into the development and health.

Because they are rapidly developing, they are very likely to be jumping through the weight categories for any parasite control medications. For safe dosing, as well as sustainable and appropriate use of these medications, knowing their weight is vital.

These visits can be done by bringing your puppy in and simply using our scales. Alternatively, you are welcome to see one of our veterinary nurses for an appointment. This is a great opportunity to their track development, and ask for essential advice on everything from numbers of meals per day, toilet training, socialisation needs and much more!

We are so pleased that our patients feel so at home at the practice - Reggie enjoyed making himself comfortable on the chair for his appointment 🐾

WOW - what a lovely double page spread!

This month, The Hadleigh Vets is celebrating our two year anniversary of being open! Our Vet Jess writes a column each month for the Box River News and has written about our journey from our small beginnings to the bustling practice we have today.

Thank you so much to all our clients who have read and commented about this month’s article. We love being a part of the Hadleigh community 🐾❤️

🐾 EXCITING NEWS for all clients of The Hadleigh Vets 🐾
We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with VidiVet - a 24/7 online veterinary advice service run by experienced UK-based vets.

After a fantastic trial with our Hadleigh Pet Club members, we are officially rolling out Vidivet access to all our clients as a free of charge service.

How VidiVet Works:
📲 Ask anything (day or night!) - send a video, photo, or text message through the app 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
📲 Fast, personalised advice - you will receive a tailored video response back from a qualified vet (in our experience in less time than it takes to make a cup of tea!)
📲 Peace of mind - find out if your pet needs an urgent practice visit, they can wait until morning, and if they can be safely monitored at home

VidiVet sends our team notes on every interaction, so our clinical team is always kept in the loop. The service is designed to complement our team (do not worry - they do not replace your regular in-person appointments with us - it is just an extra layer of 24/7 support!)

Signing up is straightforward. You just need to make an account and download the app here: go.vidivet.com/hadleigh

Keep an eye on your email inbox over the next week for a handy step-by-step signup guide from the VidiVet team. If you are not on our mailing list for practice information and newsletters, please us know and we can add you.

We hope this gives you extra comfort and peace of mind caring for your furry family members!

Did you know that every single dental procedure we perform includes full-mouth dental x-rays as standard?

Sweet Nala recently came to see our team for dental treatment, and she was a superstar from start to finish.

X-rays (or radiographs) allow us look beneath the gumline to check the health of every single tooth - things we simply cannot see from just the surface. They help our team make safe, informed decisions about a pet's dental health and determine if any additional treatments or procedures are necessary.

A big thank you to Nala’s owner for allowing us to post this cool video!

Happy International Cat Day from our team to yours! 🐾

Today, as proud custodians of feline health and wellbeing, we are celebrating the real bosses running our practice behind the scenes. This day honours the fantastic work that International Cat Care and the International Society of Feline Medicine do to highlight the importance of cat friendly care .🐱✨

We welcome all photos of our feline patients in the comments below and your guesses as to who owns each fabulous feline!

This little lady is Dotty! Dotty’s owners noticed a small lump on one of her mammary glands and brought her in for vet Noor to check.

When it comes to mammary lumps, prompt action is so important. Unlike many other lumps where we can take a quick needle sample to see if they are benign or malignant, mammary lumps rarely give us an accurate picture from small samples alone. Mammary lumps are also usually hormonally mediated (meaning spayed dogs are much less likely to develop them than unspayed dogs). As a result, vets often recommend prompt removal of any lumps affecting these areas.

Vet Noor performed a dual surgical procedure. Dotty had her lump removed and was spayed at the same time to help protect her future health.

Dotty’s lump has now been sent off to the lab for analysis so we can confirm if any follow-up care is needed. She was so sweet throughout her stay and made a fantastic recovery.

Sending lots of love to Dotty while she rests up at home!

Take a look inside our in-house laboratory! Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the laboratory we have here on site. We have a comprehensive selection of machines and tests, allowing our clinical team to run a huge variety of tests when needed.

Delivering an exceptional standard of care is at the heart of everything we do, and having our own facility on site means we get fast, precise answers so we can build tailored treatment plans for your pet without delay.
