Stunning Loki from lokis_chew_crew had a FULL GROOM today after only 2 desensitisation/counter conditioning sessions!!! What an absolute superstar he is!!! 🎉🎉
He hasn't had a proper bath in years because he would get so stressed and howl at the groomers.
I reintroduced everything using food in our two previous sessions and he loooves food so it has completely changed his relationship with being groomed! Today he got into the bath by himself, tolerated 3 thorough shampoo's and a deep condition and didn't make a murmur! He actually seemed quite relaxed and took food throughout his bath. I got loads of hair out in the bath! He was such a good boy, he smashed all expectations!!
Loki did so well with the stand dryer and I was able to introduce the blaster on low. He didn't like the blaster past his shoulders so I just used the stand dryer on his front end and kept him busy with the snuffle mat! I gave him a good brush and combed him through to get rid of any last bits of dead hair. His coat came out amazing and plush! He tolerated an ear clean and a dew claw clip.
I think we were all surprised at just how well he coped!
He's such a lovely boy and I am so happy for him and his family at just how far he's come in such a short amount of time!!!
Well done Loki, you gorgeous and now sweet smelling boy!!! Another huge win for behaviour led grooming🧡🐾
