Meet Saoirse 🐾

This sweet Red and White Setter is joining me for day training sessions alongside coaching sessions with her humans, and she’s been such a fun little student!
Not even five months old, Saoirse is already showing us how smart, curious and attentive she can be. We’re working on little games and skills that will help set her up for success as she grows.

Of course, at this age, it’s all about repetition, practice and keeping things fun. We’re building foundations, not expecting perfection!

The goal? Helping Saoirse and her humans learn to communicate, grow their confidence and build the kind of partnership that makes life together even better. ❤️

Adopting a dog is the beginning of a relationship — and sometimes, a little guidance can help everyone find their footing! I loved working with Melissa, Matt, Bramble (and Coco, too) as they navigated life as a newly expanded family. And yes… sometimes training means bringing my own dog(s) along for a little hands-on practice 😉🐕

When guests arrive at your house, or someone knocks on your door, how does your dog react? 🚪🐕

Here’s how I progressed in my training with Kaida, an American Staffordshire Terrier puppy. Training for this every day scenario now, in puppy hood, ensures she is familiar and comfortable with her role when future greetings or door knocks occur. Taking this approach means we’ve reduced an often high stress / small space reaction to a calm-paws, low-stress daily routine for everyone involved 💚🐾

My dog days of summer recap 🐾☀️

Summer looked a little like this this year 📸
Training sessions, back yard practise camping, lake days, ocean days and eventually... taking Gizmo on his first ever multi-night hiking trip in the backcountry ⛺️🥾🐶

Apart from the fun, work and chores, the underlying theme this summer was all about continuing to work with Gizmo; building confidence, skills and connection along the way.

It seems crazy that next week we see the first day of Autumn, which means shorter days (🥲). Is anyone else in summer denial phase, or are you ready for the 'ber' months?
