Nova had quite the unexpected foreign-body ingestion!

After swallowing a spatula, Nova was brought to Alpenlofts Veterinary Hospital for treatment. When induced vomiting was unsuccessful, Dr. Eugene performed an endoscopic procedure under sedation to retrieve the spatula from Nova’s stomach.

Endoscopy can allow veterinarians to retrieve certain foreign objects without the need for more invasive surgery, depending on the object and the patient’s condition.

A reminder to keep household objects safely out of your pet’s reach. Curious noses can sometimes get them into trouble!

Bazzy is getting ready for a big move to Australia!

Before travelling internationally with your pet, it’s important to understand the specific entry and export requirements for your destination. Bazzy is completing his rabies titre test as part of his export preparations.

Pet travel requirements can take several weeks or longer to complete, so planning ahead is essential. ✈️🐶

Meet Teddy! 🐾🖤

This sweet, slightly shy boy absolutely loves the water! Teddy recently visited us with a stubborn hotspot near his shoulder, and his family is understandably concerned.

We’re keeping a close eye on him and helping this lovable water buddy get back to feeling his best.

Parasites aren’t always easy to spot.

Lucie’s little visitors are a good reminder that parasites can affect pets inside and out, and some may be too small to see with the naked eye.

Regular parasite prevention helps protect not only your furry friends, but also the people they share their home with.

Poor Royce had us a little worried when he came in stumbly and unable to control his urine. 🐾🩺

After a quick drug test, we discovered that Royce had tested positive for THC, and it appeared he had gotten into ma*****na.

Thankfully, identifying the cause quickly helped our veterinary team provide the appropriate care and keep a close eye on him. ❤️

A good reminder to keep ma*****na and other potentially harmful substances safely out of reach of pets. 🐶🐱

Luna is one brave girl! 🐾💗

Today, Luna came in to have a large bladder stone removed. Thankfully, her procedure went well, and we’re happy to share that she has recovered beautifully and is doing well. 🩺✨

Wishing this sweet girl a smooth recovery and plenty of happy, healthy days ahead! 🐱💕
