We’re a volunteer-led, community farm that provides farm education & donates 100% of the food we grow Grow Calgary is Canada’s largest urban community farm.

We are a nonprofit organization that grows fresh produce for social agencies in Calgary with food access programs. Thanks to our volunteers and the generous spirit of the community, we have managed to donate to over 40 Compassionate Food Access Agencies in Calgary, with 95% of our recipients being women and children. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that all residents of Calgary, especially those wh

o are vulnerable and living in poverty, have consistent access to healthy, local food. Founded in 2011, we saw our first harvest in 2013. As of May 2021 we are celebrating 8 years in the fight against food-insecurity! We believe in our fundamental rights to access food and shelter. More than that, we view urban agriculture as a feasible, immediate response to food access & food dignity among food-insecure Calgarians living below the poverty line. We donate 100% of the fresh food we grow.

We’re excited to be participating as a workshop host at ’s community garden launch party on Sunday, June 14th!

During our workshop, we will be discussing food insecurity and the importance of local food production as well as sharing some growing tips and guidelines that we have used over the years. There will be several other workshops and activities throughout the day that you won’t want to miss.

Join us at Seedy Saturday this upcoming weekend on March 21 from 10am-3pm 🌱 We will have heirloom veggie and flower seeds for sale that have been harvested locally from one of our volunteer’s. All proceeds will go to Grow Calgary!

We are in search of a volunteer grant writer! Join our team to help us acquire funding to support our operations and growth 🌱 Every year, we produce hundreds of pounds of food for local food access programs and we want to increase our capacity.

Tasks & Requirements:
- Search for eligible grants and submit proposals
- Complete post-grant reporting
- Experience with grant/proposal writing is an asset
Interest in supporting the community, food insecurity, local food production, and/or the environment
- Time commitment: 8-12 hours per month
- All work can be done virtually/WFH

We had an amazing visit from the August Electronics team last Wednesday!

They helped harvest a whopping 60lbs of fresh produce: turnips, beets, zucchini, cucumbers, dill, cilantro, kale & Swiss chard 🥬🥒
Huge thanks to this group for giving back to their community and getting their hands dirty with us! 🌱💚
