Rhaegar was in to the vet a couple days ago for a full work up, he's been quite grumpy and seeming painful so it doesn't...

Rhaegar was in to the vet a couple days ago for a full work up, he's been quite grumpy and seeming painful so it doesn't seem his pain was quite being managed. He had x-rays as well as bloodwork/urine tests and thankfully overall he's a very healthy dog for his age (she commented he surprisingly still has "young dog knees"). His heart murmur hasn't worsened and bloodwork was perfect.

Unfortunately however the arthritis in his spine has progressed and he has some arthritis in his ankles as well which is likely causing the signs we are seeing in mood as well as some other symptoms, so we added on gabapentin and metacam. He had a pretty rough day yesterday, but things seemed to have levelled out for him now and he seems to be feeling perhaps some relief. He's on a two week trial to just see how he does.

Poor guy he was into the vet and had to be sedated for X-rays and blood work. It sure took him a while to come out of it...
