Come groom Nynke with me 🖤

While Nynke is keeping me busy under saddle, three of her babies are quietly growing out in the paddocks.

It’s pretty special looking at the mare standing in front of me and knowing there are three young Friesians out there carrying a little piece of her into the future.

For now, they get to grow up, be horses and find their feet — but I’m really looking forward to seeing what each of them becomes as they start coming through. 🖤

There’s going to be a lot more Nynke in our future.

On completion of our beautiful stallions collection training this week. I may have then gotten lost in a bit of an online rabbit hole, chasing bloodlines and then progeny of our Stallions, and discovered this picture of our Stallions as babies at

Saturday 1st August 2026

We celebrated the horses birthday by doing our first dressage tests in about 2 years with Nynke, squeezing today inbetween family events coming off the week of back to back driving my stallions Spartacus & Renegade to Collection Training......And Spartacus smashing my foot this morning with his foot :( i nearly didnt go, but i could get my boots on with only a smig of pain, so off I went.

Prelim 1.1 we had a few stumbles, out of the halt and going into the first trot circle and than the kanagroos from the other arena were coming at us down our final long side. Resulted in a disappointing mark of 51%

Prelim 1.3 Nynke was very unsure of the corner of the arena that was sitting very close to the evident recent earth works, but the highlight was scoring an 8 for our centerline and halt... the rest was pretty average scoring overall 60.208%

And then I remembered what I didnt love about doing dressage... but all in all was a beautiful afternoon riding my slightly unpredictable mare (who was pretty good today, considering) at Alexander Park Dressage Club
