Moorong Vet are honoured to be a donation drop off point for Vinnies Van Service this Winter. ❄️🐶🐱

The Vinnies winter donation drive is for pets and companion animals belonging to individuals and families doing it tough within our community.

As we move into the colder months, many people experiencing hardship, housing instability or social isolation are also struggling to care for their pets’ basic needs. We know that to many people, their animals are an important source of companionship and emotional support, especially for our homeless community in Wagga. 

Some items that would be helpful include:

* Blankets and pet bedding
* Dog coats and winter items 
* Dog and cat food (dry or canned)
* Pet treats 
* Pet toys 
* General pet care items 

Any contribution, large or small, would be greatly appreciated. ♥️♥️

Protecting your puppy from Parvovirus 🐶

Parvovirus is a highly fatal virus causing vomiting and haemorrhagic diarrhoea in dogs. Puppy vaccinations are a series of important injections designed to protect your pup from common diseases such as parvovirus.

Starting from 6-8 weeks old and ending at 16 weeks old, you don’t want to miss this vital period of your pups health protection!

Other ways to avoid parvovirus while your pup is receiving vaccinations:

🐾Parvo persists in soils for years - don’t let your pup walk on it
🐾Avoid high dog traffic areas eg dog parks
🐾Keep unvaccinated pups in your arms at the vet clinic
🐾Leave your shoes at the front door - the virus can track on your shoes from an infected area to your home
🐾Vital socialising habits can be formed at puppy class in a safe, clean environment
