As I am stuck on the Gold Coast, I was thinking of doing some seminars, I’m stuck here for another month due to Archie’s injury, I’ve also been slack and late doing all of this so instead of the four weeks like I anticipated it will probably be three weeks if I get the interest and start soon. At the moment, I’m opening it just to cocker spaniels because there is a limit of 6 to 8 dogs only per session and i’m not sure how big the room is

I’m a qualified/certified canine fitness instructor and also canine Massage instructor and nearly canine rehab therapist.

Depending on location will depend on cost but it might be at Tweed Heads

I’m curious if anyone is interested so I’ve just done a form which shows what I was going to offer

OLDER DOGS - this is for dogs eight years and older and you’ll be showing basic exercises foundations and working on that. Arthritis is one of the biggest killers of older dogs and we can actually help dogs with arthritis with movement of joints. It’s also showing Massage techniques and how to help them in the home environment.

KEEPING OUR DOGS FIT & HEALTHY - this will show you exercises starting with foundation and how to increase the level of difficulty. Cockers have a high incidence of IVDD this will help you learn exercises to increase the strength of the core and rear legs

PUPPY FOUNDATION

PERFORMANCE DOGS - sporting dogs need to be of a highest and and fitter and in great condition and this is to show you some exercises and how to progress to help improve performance in agility, flyball and other sports. Exercises will be based on the sports.

GAIT ANALYSIS & HOW TO DETECT SUBTLE SIGNS EARLY - this is one that is unlimited and a one day event. It’s one where you don’t bring your dogs but there will be dogs there. It will show you how to do a gait analysis if you think something is wrong, and how to look and feel if you think something is wrong

If you are interested, please fill out the form or if you want to know more you can contact me or put a comment here. Cost will depend on where it would be unlimited to 6 to 8 people

My little Archie was operated on Wednesday. We have eight weeks of recovery in a caravan travelling fun fun fun fun.

He had a screw put in each elbow as he humeral condylar fissure complete left and incomplete right.

We had CT scan, surgery consult.

I stupidly threw a ball and as he stopped he screamed in pain and was non-weight-bearing for three days. He went to a vet for pain relief and diagnosis (I legally can’t diagnose and in my case I love the second opinion) but we had to go to another one for imaging. I never would have suspected this as it’s not common in cocker spaniels in Australia but overseas it is.

A long road to recovery, but if all goes well, we hopefully can do agility but most importantly he has a life of running around

4 to 6 months every rehab and hydrotherapy as we will be doing rehab, return to sport rehab, fitness and return to sport fitness. For sporting dogs especially agility there is more to rehab than just the general rehab.

Just spent two days at Vet Science week, I have learnt so much. One day was about behaviour in dogs in relation to pain and how pain can affect a dog‘s behaviour.

Why do we take a dog to the vet it’s usually because we’ve noted a change email dogs behaviour.

We can never stop learning and going to conferences. I learn so much.

My new toy, dreams do come true!!! ever since my dogs had K Laser at Sash years ago. I fell in love with her, but I couldn’t afford it. Finally, I now have one. I wasn’t going to get it till next year, but with Archie’s operation coming up I wanted it as soon as possible

I’ll now be able to treat dogs much quicker with laser and also going through my notes again as it’s been so long and I was concentrating more on dogs to do cats and horse horses so when I’m in the country and outback, I can treat and help more than only doggies

Exciting times ahead
