Wulfgar Kennels Breeders of Fine Irish Wolfhounds and Giant Schnauzer in Australia. For more information send us an email [email protected]

I started the Wulfgar prefix with Irish wolfhounds in 1980. My second breed was Scottish Deerhounds under the Weirskints prefix from 1996. The Giant Schnauzers have been bred under the Wulfgar prefix since 1999. Our family has always had pets and my mother in Finland had the Reimin prefix achieving International champion status in both conformation and obedience with her Hovawart's and Australian Terriers. All her Australian terriers were imported from Tahee kennels in Sydney . The first imported male was the International Champion Tahee Annalee's Vekku. My mother was awarded the “Vuolasvirta” Prize by the Finnish Kennel club for her achievements as a breeder and exhibitor. The Wulfgar and Weirskints dogs have gained multiple Best in Show, Runner up in Show, Multiple Group and in Show awards. Our Giant Schnauzers and Irish Wolfhounds are also Multi Specialty Best in Show winners. Our Schnauzer Grand champion Wulfgar Phoebe "Tasha" is the first female Giant Schnauzer to have achieved this award in the breeds history in Australia . Our dogs have been exported to Europe, Hawaii, USA, New Zealand , South Africa and Japan. We have semen in storage from our proven Grand Champions and champions. Giant Schnauzers are an alert, reliable and intelligent breed that are ideal with other dogs and children. The Giant Schnauzer has medium to high maintenance requirements for excercise and grooming as the coat does require stripping for the show dog - pets can be clipped. Giant Schnauzers require a good deal of social and mental stimulation. Wulfgar Giant Schnauzers are committed to breeding Schnauzers with outstanding temprements that excel in the Show Ring, at obedience trials and as family pets. Our Schnauzers have a proven record in all fields of endeavour for this magnificent breed of dog. For more information go to our website: http://www.dogs.net.au/wulfgargiants/default.asp

Representing the Celtic Hound Society. Big shout-out to Libby, Rhys, Kylie, June, Craig, Stephen, Soile, and the Wulfgar Irish Wolfhound crew! Our beautiful hounds captured the hearts of many—Nuala and her offspring (Tyr, Sami & Nina), alongside the awesome foursome: Killian, Brady, Tadgh & Orhan. 🐾❤️
Well done to Jocelyn representing the Deerhound Club of Victoria with 2 of her gorgeous Deerhound’s and to Paula for dropping in to assist in between her band performances 👏 ❤️

September 27, 2015. Nice memories of Zac ·

I very proud to announce that Zac (Ch Wulfgar Zachary (AI)) today became the first Irish Wolfhound in Australia to qualify as an ANKC open courser. Many thanks to his breeders Soile Gendle and Finola Baker for entrusting me with this wonderful boy. Photoes from a previous lure coursing event.

Bear Paintain's posting with some additional photos of Liam's journey so far.

A great day at West Wyalong yesterday. Only entered the A2O show in the afternoon. Liam, Ch Wulfgar Strong Protector, was BOB and then shortlisted to the top three for group.
This gave him his final A2O certificate to apply for his A2O title.

A great weekend of shows in Canberra run by the Hound Club of the ACT.
Thank you Judith Adraskan for the well run shows.
Liam, Ch Wulfgar Strong Protector, took 4 BOB, and 1 Open in Show.
The Open in Show was special as it was awarded by Irish Wolfhound Specialist Mrs Anne McEvoy (SA). I would like to thank her for the lovely comments she made about Liam.
Congratulations to all the other winners over the 4 shows.
Thank you Stuart Boyd and Dior Noki for the great company over the weekend and the photo.

Digging through my archives for something else, I found these photos from the early 1990s which I thought might amuse folks, with Soile and I a lot younger than we are now.😁

at DOGS NSW.

Thank you Nikki Zullo for these amazing photos of Liam, Ch Wulfgar Strong Protector, taken at the Inaugural Irish Breeds Club show where Liam won Runner Up Best In Show.

I am little late putting up the wonderful achievement of Liam and Bear. Do to family crisis , spent time with my daughter after her operation. Was babysitting her pets while she was in hospital and then looking after her and the pets while she is recovering. Luckily my son is now on the babysitting duties and looking after his sister and the pets.
