💧Meet Alison- Canine Hydrotherapist💧

My journey into canine hydrotherapy combines my human healthcare background with my lifelong love of animals. When my Labrador Dougal needed physiotherapy, SASH also recommended hydrotherapy for him. I discovered there were no local services available for hydrotherapy.

This led me to research the field extensively and was also how I connected with Genevieve, who became Dougal's rehab therapist. What started as a quest to help my own dog soon evolved into a calling I couldn't ignore.

Witnessing Dougal's remarkable improvement through rehab was truly inspiring. It felt natural to merge my healthcare experience with my love of animal care, allowing me to help other pets and families experience the same transformative benefits that made such a difference in our lives.

That’s a whole lot of swimming, hard work and tail wags!

💧Meet Kylie- Canine Hydrotherapist💧

With over 30 years of experience in veterinary nursing, I’ve spent much of my career caring for animals and helping them live happier, healthier lives. After many years in vet nursing, I decided it was time for a change and wanted to explore a new way of supporting animals through their recovery.

That’s what led me to Central West Rehab Vet, where I studied to become a Canine Hydrotherapist and began working with the amazing team here. I’ve also completed my Veterinary Laser Safety Officer Course, allowing me to provide laser therapy as part of our patients’ rehabilitation care.

I love being able to combine my years of veterinary experience with my passion for rehabilitation. Seeing a dog gain confidence, strength and mobility throughout their rehabilitation journey is incredibly rewarding.

Every patient is different, and I love getting to know each dog and helping them work towards feeling their best again

Franklin’s Little Rehab Update 🐾💙

Franklin has been a regular patient with us for a couple of years now. He initially presented to us with hip dysplasia, which we have been managing with regular hydrotherapy, laser therapy, massage sessions and tailored exercises.

Just over a week ago, Franklin underwent FHO surgery, and after just a few rehab sessions, he’s already walking so much better!

It’s still early days in his recovery, but we’re so happy to see such positive progress already. We’ll be cheering Franklin on every step of the way!
