BELLA NEEDS YOUR HELP - FOSTER FAMILY NEEDED

Update: You might recall the following story about Bella the Greyhound.

Unfortunately, we need to find Bella a new foster home or even better still a new forever home.

Bella has been living with a beautiful foster family who have been trying so hard to work with Bella, but Bella has just not come around with them.

Bella stays in the backyard and will not come inside and they cannot put a jacket on her and even when they lay blankets outside for her she refuses to lay on them. The thing is they live inland and the nights are quickly getting colder and colder and Bella being outside is definitely not good for her health.

Our nights nearer the coast are definitely not as cold.

If you have already have a dog, we think that might really help Bella settle down.

On the goodside Bella has not had any seizures whilst she has been in their care.

If you can offer Bella a home for even a short time please reach out.

We cannot bring Bella in to the Facility as not only are we just about always full, when Bella is in the kennels she is so anxious and cries 24/7.

Can you give her a chance?

To enquire more or to meet Bella, please call 0499 900 272 or email [email protected] and speak to one of our friendly staff.

1st May 2025

Yesterday we had an urgent, heartbreaking, telephone call from one of the local Vets.
One of our past adopted dogs (December 2023) had been taken into them for euthanasia, the reason stated was she is having epileptic seizures and when she is coming out of it, she has nipped them.
We were never contacted or advised of any issues and have not been able to contact the adopting family.
The vets cannot hold on to her, and they do not want to euthanise her.
We unfortunately have no available kennel space to be able to take her back into the Facility, we have reached out to rescues with no luck at this stage and things are urgent and we need to find a solution straight away.
So, we are reaching out for a foster family who would be able to take in this beautiful girl for hopefully just a short term whilst we get her future sorted.
She deserves to live, and live a long and happy life, with a family who will love and understand her needs.
Now please let me reintroduce you to Bella. This is from her previous adoption profile. We have not had a chance to retest her with dogs again, but we are hoping that it is still the same story.
Bella is a Greyhound born 28th March 2022.
Bella was brought in to us with her sister Tiny. They were bred for racing but never actually raced and they have previously lived with French Bulldogs.
Bella has tested well with other dogs, however she prefers other calm dogs. If you have a friendly, calm dog at home we would need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Bella appears to have some prey drive so we are recommending a home without cats & pocket pets.
Bella has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety.
She still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Bella will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and patience.

To enquire more or to meet Bella, please call 0499 900 272 or email [email protected] and speak to one of our friendly staff.

Many years ago, in what seemed like simpler times, we were satisfied with saving animals from harm & "just" finding them loving homes.

As time went on and things became, let's say "less simple", we found ourselves becoming less satisfied and having less peace of mind & heart.

How can we continue to sleep at night when we know the outrageous things people do to their animals and not seek justice for them?

How can we continue to look ourselves in the mirror when we hold a strangers animal as they're put to sleep, when we know they're the victim, not their owner?

None of us want to fight or argue or stress constantly or see the things we see, but how can we not? Who will hold these people accountable?

There is a line from a Fall Out Boy song that says "I didn't come for a fight, but I will fight 'til the end" that I think is so fitting in this situation.

We will fight for them.. always.
