🐾 FREEDOM BUSTER – WH***EY HAS A HOME! 🐾
❤️ Now we need your help to get him ready and get him there!
Remember Wh***ey?
Only days ago we put out an EXTREMELY URGENT ASSISTED REHOMING plea for this beautiful boy.
Now we can finally tell you why—and, more importantly, we have some wonderful news.
When Wh***ey originally came into the pound, his microchip was still registered to his breeder. The breeder helped us identify the person Wh***ey had been rehomed to and initially, his owner advised that he would collect him.
Unfortunately, communication then broke down. The breeder was blocked, but we eventually managed to contact Wh***ey's owner ourselves.
He explained that he could no longer keep Wh***ey for a number of reasons, including Wh***ey escaping, allergies within the household and not having permission to keep him at the rental property.
Initially, we were told that if Wh***ey had to return home, he would simply have to be euthanised. After further conversations, his owner admitted this had been said out of frustration and thankfully agreed to work with us to find Wh***ey somewhere else to go.
So why didn't we simply take Wh***ey as a surrender?
Take a look at his nose in these two photos. 💔
The first photo is Wh***ey when he arrived.
The second shows what began happening during his short stay with us.
Wh***ey did not cope in the pound environment.
He cried constantly and repeatedly pushed and rubbed his nose against the kennel door trying to get out. He would even push against the walls as though somehow he could make them buckle.
Watching his anxiety escalate, we became genuinely concerned about his emotional welfare.
Keeping Wh***ey in a kennel while we spent potentially weeks searching for another home wasn't fair to him.
So Wh***ey returned home while we began Assisted Rehoming from there.
And that's when the clock started ticking.
His owner asked us to find somewhere for Wh***ey to go, preferably between Wednesday and Friday just gone.
That's why you saw our EXTREMELY URGENT post.
We weren't exaggerating.
We genuinely had only days to find this boy somewhere to go.
We sent potential adopters through to his owner, organised meet and greets and even had people bring their dogs here so we could help determine whether everyone would get along.
One potential canine sister wasn't having a bar of poor Wh***ey, despite Wh***ey desperately wanting to be her friend! 😂
We've also had the opportunity to see Wh***ey around dogs, cats and even roosters, and he showed no concerning reaction towards them.
Wh***ey really is such a sweet kid.
He just needs someone prepared to teach him all those things nobody seems to have taken the time to teach him before.
And then, just when we desperately needed something to go right...
❤️ LEE FOUND HIM A HOME!
We have been working alongside a lovely rehoming lady named Lee, and she believes she has found the perfect family for Wh***ey.
A wonderful retired couple, a few hours away, have opened their hearts and home to him—and they can't wait for him to arrive.
They know Wh***ey comes with some homework.
They understand there may be anxiety to work through, toilet training to master and general training needed to help him become the bestest boy he can possibly be.
Most importantly, they're prepared to give him something he desperately needs:
Security.
To teach him that he belongs.
To teach him that he doesn't have to panic.
And perhaps the biggest lesson of all...
❤️ When his people leave, they WILL come back.
These beautiful people are already taking on a pretty big commitment, and we want to give both them and Wh***ey the very best possible start.
Wh***ey hasn't had the vet work done that we want completed before he starts this next chapter.
Then we need to physically get him to his new family.
We asked his previous owner whether he could drive Wh***ey even halfway.
Unfortunately, the answer was no.
So we have booked Dog Movers for Wednesday, at a cost of $325.00, to get Wh***ey to his new home.
We've also booked his vet appointment so we can make sure his vet work is completed BEFORE he leaves.
We don't think the beautiful people stepping up to take on Wh***ey should immediately be left with expenses that should already have been taken care of.
They're taking on the training.
They're taking on the anxiety.
They're taking on teaching Wh***ey how to be part of a family.
The least we can do is give them a helping hand with everything else.
🎯 WH***EY'S FREEDOM BUSTER GOAL: $685.00
That will allow us to complete his required vet work and cover the $325 transport cost to get him safely to his new family.
And we're on a deadline again!
