🌟🌟🙏UPDATE..We are still looking for the owner, however we have found out that the dog's name is Buster and he is originally from Windale but was rehomed to a Jason in Alkira Avenue Cessnock.
Please if you can help us find Jason so we can return this boy home.

🚨 URGENT – CESSNOCK COMMUNITY, WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨
🐾 DO YOU KNOW THIS DOG? DID YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED THIS MORNING? 🐾
We urgently need the community’s help to establish what happened to a small Staffy-type dog brought into our facility this morning.
At approximately 9:15am today, an NDIS support worker who was in the Cessnock area caring for a client came across this dog in circumstances that have raised some very serious concerns.
The finder has reported to us that she witnessed children throwing rocks at the dog and that a man was allegedly attempting to strike the dog with a piece of timber, described as a 2x4.
She was also told/alleged that the dog had been jumping fences looking for food and fighting with other dogs over their food.
⚠️ At this stage, these are allegations reported to us. We do not know the full circumstances and are making enquiries to establish exactly what occurred.
The finder advised that she had come out of Picton and described the location as being “around the bend”. Based on the information provided, we believe the incident may have occurred in or around Alkira Avenue, Cessnock, possibly near the vicinity of No. 64.
The finder placed a harness on the dog and secured him to her white van before bringing him safely to us.
Unfortunately, this dog is NOT microchipped, so we have no way of identifying or contacting his owner.
⏰ AND THE CLOCK IS NOW TICKING.
Because he is unidentified, we only have a limited statutory holding period in which an owner can come forward and claim him.
But there is another reason we desperately need to establish the truth.
If this dog has genuinely been involved in attacking other dogs in the community, that information needs to be reported and properly investigated. It may also have serious implications for whether he can safely be rehomed.
Equally, we do not want an unverified allegation hanging over this dog and potentially determining his future if it is not true.
This little guy cannot tell us what happened.
He cannot tell us where he lives.
He cannot tell us whether he escaped, was lost, was dumped or has been surviving by looking for food.
And he certainly cannot tell us whether the allegations being made about him are true.
❤️ THAT IS WHY WE NEED YOU TO BE HIS VOICE.
We urgently want to hear from anyone who can help answer any of the following:
• Do you recognise this dog or know who owns him?
• Were you in or around Alkira Avenue, Cessnock at approximately 9:15am this morning?
• Did you see children throwing rocks at a small Staffy-type dog?
• Did you witness a man allegedly attempting to strike the dog with a piece of timber?
• Did you see a woman with a white van stop and assist or collect the dog?
• Have you seen this dog roaming the area previously?
• Do you have firsthand knowledge of the allegation that he has been jumping fences or fighting with other dogs over food?
• Do you have CCTV, doorbell-camera or dashcam footage from the area around that time?

We are not asking the community to speculate, identify or attack anybody online. Please do not name people in the comments based on rumours or second-hand information.
We are asking for facts, witnesses and information so we can establish what actually happened.

Sadly, we know animals can be dumped. We know people don't always tell the truth. We also know animals can be blamed for things they have not done.
But we also have a responsibility to take genuine reports of aggression seriously.
This dog deserves to have the facts established before decisions about his future are made.
For now, he is safe with us.
He has food.
He has shelter.
And nobody is going to throw another rock at him here.
But we need to know his story.
